kasan: test: fix test for new meminstrinsic instrumentation The tests for memset/memmove have been failing since they haven't been instrumented in 69d4c0d32186. Fix the test to recognize when memintrinsics aren't instrumented, and skip test cases accordingly. We also need to conditionally pass -fno-builtin to the test, otherwise the instrumentation pass won't recognize memintrinsics and end up not instrumenting them either. kasan: fix bad call to unpoison_slab_object mainline inclusion from mainline-v6.10-rc6 category: bugfix Commit 29d7355a9d05 ("kasan: save alloc stack traces for mempool") messed up one of the calls to unpoison_slab_object: the last two arguments are supposed to be GFP flags and whether to init the object memory. Fix the call. Without this fix, __kasan_mempool_unpoison_object provides the object's size as GFP flags to unpoison_slab_object, which can cause LOCKDEP reports (and probably other issues). kasan: fix type cast in memory_is_poisoned_n Commit bb6e04a173f0 ("kasan: use internal prototypes matching gcc-13 builtins") introduced a bug into the memory_is_poisoned_n implementation: it effectively removed the cast to a signed integer type after applying KASAN_GRANULE_MASK. As a result, KASAN started failing to properly check memset, memcpy, and other similar functions. Fix the bug by adding the cast back (through an additional signed integer variable to make the code more readable). This is because init_vmalloc_pages() erroneously calls virt_to_page() on a vmalloc address, while virt_to_page() is only valid for addresses in the linear/direct map. Since init_vmalloc_pages() expects virtual addresses in the vmalloc range, it must use vmalloc_to_page() rather than virt_to_page(). We call init_vmalloc_pages() from __kasan_unpoison_vmalloc(), where we check !is_vmalloc_or_module_addr(), suggesting that we might encounter a non-vmalloc address. Luckily, this never happens. By design, we only call __kasan_unpoison_vmalloc() on pointers in the vmalloc area, and I have verified that we don't violate that expectation. Given that, is_vmalloc_or_module_addr() must always be true for any legitimate argument to __kasan_unpoison_vmalloc(). Correct init_vmalloc_pages() to use vmalloc_to_page(), and remove the redundant and misleading use of is_vmalloc_or_module_addr() in __kasan_unpoison_vmalloc(). mm/kasan: fix double free for kasan pXds commit 51d8c78be0c27ddb91bc2c0263941d8b30a47d3b upstream. kasan_free_pxd() assumes the page table is always struct page aligned. But that's not always the case for all architectures. E.g. In case of powerpc with 64K pagesize, PUD table (of size 4096) comes from slab cache named pgtable-2^9. Hence instead of page_to_virt(pxd_page()) let's just directly pass the start of the pxd table which is passed as the 1st argument. This fixes the below double free kasan issue seen with PMEM: radix-mmu: Mapped 0x0000047d10000000-0x0000047f90000000 with 2.00 MiB pages ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: double-free in kasan_remove_zero_shadow+0x9c4/0xa20 Free of addr c0000003c38e0000 by task ndctl/2164 CPU: 34 UID: 0 PID: 2164 Comm: ndctl Not tainted 6.19.0-rc1-00048-gea1013c15392 #157 VOLUNTARY Hardware name: IBM,9080-HEX POWER10 (architected) 0x800200 0xf000006 of:IBM,FW1060.00 (NH1060_012) hv:phyp pSeries Call Trace: dump_stack_lvl+0x88/0xc4 (unreliable) print_report+0x214/0x63c kasan_report_invalid_free+0xe4/0x110 check_slab_allocation+0x100/0x150 kmem_cache_free+0x128/0x6e0 kasan_remove_zero_shadow+0x9c4/0xa20 memunmap_pages+0x2b8/0x5c0 devm_action_release+0x54/0x70 release_nodes+0xc8/0x1a0 devres_release_all+0xe0/0x140 device_unbind_cleanup+0x30/0x120 device_release_driver_internal+0x3e4/0x450 unbind_store+0xfc/0x110 drv_attr_store+0x78/0xb0 sysfs_kf_write+0x114/0x140 kernfs_fop_write_iter+0x264/0x3f0 vfs_write+0x3bc/0x7d0 ksys_write+0xa4/0x190 system_call_exception+0x190/0x480 system_call_vectored_common+0x15c/0x2ec ---- interrupt: 3000 at 0x7fff93b3d3f4 NIP: 00007fff93b3d3f4 LR: 00007fff93b3d3f4 CTR: 0000000000000000 REGS: c0000003f1b07e80 TRAP: 3000 Not tainted (6.19.0-rc1-00048-gea1013c15392) MSR: 800000000280f033 <SF,VEC,VSX,EE,PR,FP,ME,IR,DR,RI,LE> CR: 48888208 XER: 00000000 <...> NIP [00007fff93b3d3f4] 0x7fff93b3d3f4 LR [00007fff93b3d3f4] 0x7fff93b3d3f4 ---- interrupt: 3000 The buggy address belongs to the object at c0000003c38e0000 which belongs to the cache pgtable-2^9 of size 4096 The buggy address is located 0 bytes inside of 4096-byte region [c0000003c38e0000, c0000003c38e1000) The buggy address belongs to the physical page: page: refcount:0 mapcount:0 mapping:0000000000000000 index:0x0 pfn:0x3c38c head: order:2 mapcount:0 entire_mapcount:0 nr_pages_mapped:0 pincount:0 memcg:c0000003bfd63e01 flags: 0x63ffff800000040(head|node=6|zone=0|lastcpupid=0x7ffff) page_type: f5(slab) raw: 063ffff800000040 c000000140058980 5deadbeef0000122 0000000000000000 raw: 0000000000000000 0000000080200020 00000000f5000000 c0000003bfd63e01 head: 063ffff800000040 c000000140058980 5deadbeef0000122 0000000000000000 head: 0000000000000000 0000000080200020 00000000f5000000 c0000003bfd63e01 head: 063ffff800000002 c00c000000f0e301 00000000ffffffff 00000000ffffffff head: ffffffffffffffff 0000000000000000 00000000ffffffff 0000000000000004 page dumped because: kasan: bad access detected [ 138.953636] [ T2164] Memory state around the buggy address: [ 138.953643] [ T2164] c0000003c38dff00: fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc [ 138.953652] [ T2164] c0000003c38dff80: fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc [ 138.953661] [ T2164] >c0000003c38e0000: fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc [ 138.953669] [ T2164] ^ [ 138.953675] [ T2164] c0000003c38e0080: fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc [ 138.953684] [ T2164] c0000003c38e0100: fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc [ 138.953692] [ T2164] ================================================================== [ 138.953701] [ T2164] Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/2f9135c7866c6e0d06e960993b8a5674a9ebc7ec.1771938394.git.ritesh.list@gmail.com Fixes: 0207df4fa1a8 ("kernel/memremap, kasan: make ZONE_DEVICE with work with KASAN") Signed-off-by: Ritesh Harjani (IBM) <ritesh.list@gmail.com> Reported-by: Venkat Rao Bagalkote <venkat88@linux.ibm.com> Reviewed-by: Alexander Potapenko <glider@google.com> Cc: Andrey Konovalov <andreyknvl@gmail.com> Cc: Andrey Ryabinin <ryabinin.a.a@gmail.com> Cc: Dmitry Vyukov <dvyukov@google.com> Cc: "Ritesh Harjani (IBM)" <ritesh.list@gmail.com> Cc: Vincenzo Frascino <vincenzo.frascino@arm.com> Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> (cherry picked from commit cec74b2ab7dff866b1d77eaa545b9e8fd14a1f87) Signed-off-by: Wentao Guan <guanwentao@uniontech.com> | 3 个月前 | |

kasan: use vmalloc_dump_obj() for vmalloc error reports commit 6ade153349c6bb990d170cecc3e8bdd8628119ab upstream. Since 6ee9b3d84775 ("kasan: remove kasan_find_vm_area() to prevent possible deadlock"), more detailed info about the vmalloc mapping and the origin was dropped due to potential deadlocks. While fixing the deadlock is necessary, that patch was too quick in killing an otherwise useful feature, and did no due-diligence in understanding if an alternative option is available. Restore printing more helpful vmalloc allocation info in KASAN reports with the help of vmalloc_dump_obj(). Change all the prototypes to match these. Using 'void *' consistently for addresses gets rid of a couple of type casts, so push that down to the leaf functions where possible. This now passes all randconfig builds on arm, arm64 and x86, but I have not tested it on the other architectures that support kasan, since they tend to fail randconfig builds in other ways. This might fail if any of the 32-bit architectures expect a 'long' instead of 'int' for the size argument. The __asan_allocas_unpoison() function prototype is somewhat weird, since it uses a pointer for 'stack_top' and an size_t for 'stack_bottom'. This looks like it is meant to be 'addr' and 'size' like the others, but the implementation clearly treats them as 'top' and 'bottom'. kasan: infer allocation size by scanning metadata Make KASAN scan metadata to infer the requested allocation size instead of printing cache->object_size. This patch fixes confusing slab-out-of-bounds reports as reported in: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216457 As an example of the confusing behavior, the report below hints that the allocation size was 192, while the kernel actually called kmalloc(184): ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in _find_next_bit+0x143/0x160 lib/find_bit.c:109 Read of size 8 at addr ffff8880175766b8 by task kworker/1:1/26 ... kasan, kmsan: remove __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM usage from kasan/kmsan syzbot is reporting lockdep warning in __stack_depot_save(), for the caller of __stack_depot_save() (i.e. __kasan_record_aux_stack() in this report) is responsible for masking __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM flag in order not to wake kswapd which in turn wakes kcompactd. Since kasan/kmsan functions might be called with arbitrary locks held, mask __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM flag from all GFP_NOWAIT/GFP_ATOMIC allocations in kasan/kmsan. Note that kmsan_save_stack_with_flags() is changed to mask both __GFP_DIRECT_RECLAIM flag and __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM flag, for wakeup_kswapd() from wake_all_kswapds() from __alloc_pages_slowpath() calls wakeup_kcompactd() if __GFP_KSWAPD_RECLAIM flag is set and __GFP_DIRECT_RECLAIM flag is not set.
