ASoC: Intel: fix SND_SOC_SOF dependencies [ Upstream commit e837b59f8b411b5baf5e3de7a5aea10b1c545a63 ] It is currently possible to configure a kernel with all Intel SoC configs as loadable modules, but the board config as built-in. This causes a link failure in the reference to the snd_soc_sof.ko module: x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_rt5682.o: in function sof_rt5682_hw_params': sof_rt5682.c:(.text+0x1f9): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_mclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sof_rt5682.c:(.text+0x234): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_bclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_rt5682.o: in function sof_rt5682_codec_init': sof_rt5682.c:(.text+0x3e0): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_mclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_cs42l42.o: in function sof_cs42l42_hw_params': sof_cs42l42.c:(.text+0x2a): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_bclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_nau8825.o: in function sof_nau8825_hw_params': sof_nau8825.c:(.text+0x7f): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_bclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_da7219.o: in function da7219_codec_init': sof_da7219.c:(.text+0xbf): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_mclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_maxim_common.o: in function max_98373_hw_params': sof_maxim_common.c:(.text+0x6f9): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_tdm_slots' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_realtek_common.o: in function rt1015_hw_params': sof_realtek_common.c:(.text+0x54c): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_bclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_realtek_common.o: in function rt1308_hw_params': sof_realtek_common.c:(.text+0x702): undefined reference to sof_dai_get_mclk' x86_64-linux-ld: sound/soc/intel/boards/sof_cirrus_common.o: in function cs35l41_hw_params': sof_cirrus_common.c:(.text+0x2f): undefined reference to `sof_dai_get_bclk' Add an optional dependency on SND_SOC_SOF_INTEL_COMMON, to ensure that whenever the SOF support is in a loadable module, none of the board code can be built-in. This may be be a little heavy-handed, but I also don't see a reason why one would want the boards to be built-in but not the SoC, so it shouldn't actually cause any usability problems. ASoC: Intel: bytcht_es8316: Fix MCLK leak on init errors [ Upstream commit afb2a3a9d8369d18122a0d7cd294eba9a98259c6 ] byt_cht_es8316_init() enables MCLK before configuring the codec sysclk and creating the headset jack. If either of those later steps fails, the function returns without disabling MCLK, leaving the clock enabled after card registration fails. Track whether this driver enabled MCLK and disable it on the init error paths. Add the matching DAI link exit callback so the same clock enable is also balanced when ASoC cleans up a successfully initialized link. ASoC: soc-card: Create jack kcontrol without pins snd_soc_card_jack_new() allowed to create jack kcontrol without pins, but did not create kcontrols. The jack would not have kcontrols if pins were not going to be added. This renames the old snd_soc_card_jack_new() to snd_soc_card_jack_new_pins() for use when pins are provided or will be added later. The new snd_soc_card_jack_new() appropriately creates a jack for use without pins and adds a kcontrol. ASoC: intel/skl/hda - fix probe regression on systems without i915 Starting in commit cbc7a6b5a87a ("ASoC: soc-card: add snd_soc_card_add_dai_link()"), error value from ASoc add_dai_link() is no longer ignored. The generic HDA machine driver relied on the old semantics to disable i915 HDMI/DP audio codec at runtime. If no display codec was present, add_dai_link() returned an error, but this was ignored and rest of the card was successfully probed. Fix the problem by changing the machine driver add_dai_link() to not return an error in this case. ASoC: Intel: sof_es8336: Add DMI quirk for Huawei BOD-WXX9 [ Upstream commit 6b641122d31f9d33e7d60047ee0586d1659f3f54 ] Add DMI entry for Huawei Matebook D (BOD-WXX9) with HEADPHONE_GPIO and DMIC quirks. This device has ES8336 codec with: - GPIO 16 (headphone-enable) for headphone amplifier control - GPIO 17 (speakers-enable) for speaker amplifier control - GPIO 269 for jack detection IRQ - 2-channel DMIC Hardware investigation shows that both GPIO 16 and 17 are required for proper audio routing, as headphones and speakers share the same physical output (HPOL/HPOR) and are separated only via amplifier enable signals. RFC: Seeking advice on GPIO control issue: GPIO values change in driver (gpiod_get_value() shows logical value changes) but not physically (debugfs gpio shows no change). The same gpiod_set_value_cansleep() calls work correctly in probe context with msleep(), but fail when called from DAPM event callbacks. Context information from diagnostics: - in_atomic=0, in_interrupt=0, irqs_disabled=0 - Process context: pipewire - GPIO 17 (speakers): changes in driver, no physical change - GPIO 16 (headphone): changes in driver, no physical change In Windows, audio switching works without visible GPIO changes, suggesting possible ACPI/firmware involvement. Any suggestions on how to properly control these GPIOs from DAPM events would be appreciated.
