ASoC: meson: cards: select SND_DYNAMIC_MINORS [ Upstream commit 6db26f9ea4edd8a17d39ab3c20111e3ccd704aef ] Amlogic sound cards do create a lot of pcm interfaces, possibly more than 8. Some pcm interfaces are internal (like DPCM backends and c2c) and not exposed to userspace. Those interfaces still increase the number passed to snd_find_free_minor(), which eventually exceeds 8 causing -EBUSY error on card registration if CONFIG_SND_DYNAMIC_MINORS=n and the interface is exposed to userspace. select CONFIG_SND_DYNAMIC_MINORS for Amlogic cards to avoid the problem. ASoC: meson: aiu-encoder-i2s: fix bit clock polarity [ Upstream commit 4c4ed5e073a923fb3323022e1131cb51ad8df7a0 ] According to I2S specs audio data is sampled on the rising edge of the clock and it can change on the falling one. ASoC: meson: aiu: fifo-spdif: soft reset the S/PDIF datapath on start/stop [ Upstream commit 6b59c53c8adc2b522327407af5e1793a65b67e4b ] The I2S FIFO soft-resets its fast domain on start (AIU_RST_SOFT bit 0 + AIU_I2S_SYNC read in aiu_fifo_i2s_trigger), mirroring the downstream vendor driver's audio_out_i2s_enable(). The S/PDIF FIFO has no equivalent: it only toggles the IEC958 DCU, so a stale datapath FIFO can be replayed, producing the "machine gun noise" buffer underrun - on start when switching outputs, and on stop when playback ends. The latter is audible on devices with an always-on S/PDIF-fed DAC (e.g. the ES7144 on the WeTek Play2). The vendor driver resets the IEC958 fast domain (AIU_RST_SOFT bit 2) on both enable and disable (audio_hw_958_enable), and when reconfiguring (audio_hw_958_reset clears AIU_958_DCU_FF_CTRL then resets). Do the same: reset before enabling the DCU on start, and before disabling on stop. ASoC: meson: axg-fifo: fix irq scheduling issue with PREEMPT_RT [ Upstream commit 5003d0ce5c7da3a02c0aff771f516f99731e7390 ] With PREEMPT_RT enabled a spinlock_t becomes a sleeping lock. This is usually not a problem with spinlocks used in IRQ context since IRQ handlers get threaded. However, if IRQF_ONESHOT is set, the primary handler won't be force-threaded and runs always in hardirq context. This is a problem because spinlock_t requires a preemptible context on PREEMPT_RT. In this particular instance, regmap mmio uses spinlock_t to protect the register access and IRQF_ONESHOT is set on the IRQ. In this case, it is actually better to do everything in threaded handler and it solves the problem with PREEMPT_RT. ASoC: meson: axg-tdm-formatter: fix channel slot allocation When the tdm lane mask is computed, the driver currently fills the 1st lane before moving on to the next. If the stream has less channels than the lanes can accommodate, slots will be disabled on the last lanes. Unfortunately, the HW distribute channels in a different way. It distribute channels in pair on each lanes before moving on the next slots. This difference leads to problems if a device has an interface with more than 1 lane and with more than 2 slots per lane. For example: a playback interface with 2 lanes and 4 slots each (total 8 slots - zero based numbering) - Playing a 8ch stream: - All slots activated by the driver - channel #2 will be played on lane #1 - slot #0 following HW placement - Playing a 4ch stream: - Lane #1 disabled by the driver - channel #2 will be played on lane #0 - slot #2 This behaviour is obviously not desirable. Change the way slots are activated on the TDM lanes to follow what the HW does and make sure each channel always get mapped to the same slot/lane. ASoC: meson: axg-tdm-interface: manage formatters in trigger [ Upstream commit f949ed458ad15a00d41b37c745ebadaef171aaae ] So far, the formatters have been reset/enabled using the .prepare() callback. This was done in this callback because walking the formatters use a mutex. A mutex is used because formatter handling require dealing possibly slow clock operation. With the support of non-atomic, .trigger() callback may be used which also allows to properly enable and disable formatters on start but also pause/resume. ASoC: meson: convert not to use asoc_xxx() commit 0d102e68e107 ("ASoC: meson: convert not to use asoc_xxx()") upstream. ASoC is now unified asoc_xxx() into snd_soc_xxx(). This patch convert asoc_xxx() to snd_soc_xxx(). deepin-Intel-SIG: commit 0d102e68e107 ("ASoC: meson: convert not to use asoc_xxx()"). ASoC: meson: g12a: extract codec-to-codec utils The hdmi routing mechanism used on g12a hdmi is also used: * other Amlogic SoC types * for the internal DAC path Each of these codec glues are slightly different but the idea behind it remains the same. This change extract some helper functions from the g12a-tohdmitx driver to make them available for other Amlogic codecs. ASoC: meson: t9015: fix function pointer type mismatch [ Upstream commit 5ad992c71b6a8e8a547954addc7af9fbde6ca10a ] clang-16 warns about casting functions to incompatible types, as is done here to call clk_disable_unprepare: sound/soc/meson/t9015.c:274:4: error: cast from 'void (*)(struct clk *)' to 'void (*)(void *)' converts to incompatible function type [-Werror,-Wcast-function-type-strict] 274 | (void(*)(void *))clk_disable_unprepare, The pattern of getting, enabling and setting a disable callback for a clock can be replaced with devm_clk_get_enabled(), which also fixes this warning.
