SIG Introduction

Confidential Computing refers to an isolated computing technology that protects user data during usage through hardware-based Trusted Execution Environments (TEE). While data in transit and at rest have traditionally been protected via encryption, a TEE provides a protected environment ensuring that code and data under processing cannot be read or modified outside the TEE, thereby safeguarding data during processing.

sig-confidential_computing is committed to providing simple, user-friendly confidential computing software stacks and solutions that lower the barrier to adoption and drive ecosystem development.

  • Security: Continuously exploring innovations to achieve data that is "accessible but invisible, with controllable and measurable usage".

  • Usability: Dedicated to advancing the confidential computing ecosystem by addressing key pain points in solution enablement.

  • Openness: Open-source software with extensible frameworks that abstract southbound hardware differences while maintaining northbound application compatibility.
