cpufreq: Documentation: fix freq_step description driver inclusion category: bugfix bugzilla: https://atomgit.com/openeuler/kernel/issues/9163 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The conservative governor documentation incorrectly states that setting freq_step to 0 will use the default 5% frequency step. In reality, since at least commit 4471a34 ("cpufreq: governors: remove redundant code"), freq_step=0 has always caused the governor to skip frequency updates entirely. Correct the documentation to reflect the actual behavior: freq_step=0 disables frequency changes by the governor entirely. Documentation: cpufreq: Move legacy driver documentation There are three legacy driver documents in Documentation/cpu-freq/ that were added years ago and converting them each to the .rst format is rather pointless, even though there is some value in preserving them. However, if they are preserved, they need to go into the admin-guide part of cpufreq documentation where they belong (at least to a certain extent). To preserve them with minimum amount of changes and put them into the right place, and make it possible to process them into HTML (and other formats) along with the rest of the documentation, move them each as a "literal text" block into a separate section of a single .rst "wrapper" file under Documentation/admin-guide/pm/. While at it, repair the PCC specification URL in one of them. Signed-off-by: Rafael J. Wysocki <rafael.j.wysocki@intel.com> | 6 年前 | |

docs: ftrace: always use canonical ftrace path The canonical location for the tracefs filesystem is at /sys/kernel/tracing. But, from Documentation/trace/ftrace.rst: Before 4.1, all ftrace tracing control files were within the debugfs file system, which is typically located at /sys/kernel/debug/tracing. For backward compatibility, when mounting the debugfs file system, the tracefs file system will be automatically mounted at: /sys/kernel/debug/tracing Many parts of Documentation still reference this older debugfs path, so let's update them to avoid confusion. Documentation: admin-guide: PM: Update sleep states documentation There is some information in Documentation/power/interface.rst that is still missing from Documentation/admin-guide/pm/sleep-states.rst and really should be present in there, so update the latter by adding that information to it and delete the former (as it becomes redundant after that and it is somewhat outdated).
