LoongArch: Add KASAN (Kernel Address Sanitizer) support 1/8 of kernel addresses reserved for shadow memory. But for LoongArch, There are a lot of holes between different segments and valid address space (256T available) is insufficient to map all these segments to kasan shadow memory with the common formula provided by kasan core, saying (addr >> KASAN_SHADOW_SCALE_SHIFT) + KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET So LoongArch has a arch-specific mapping formula, different segments are mapped individually, and only limited space lengths of these specific segments are mapped to shadow. At early boot stage the whole shadow region populated with just one physical page (kasan_early_shadow_page). Later, this page is reused as readonly zero shadow for some memory that kasan currently don't track. After mapping the physical memory, pages for shadow memory are allocated and mapped. Functions like memset()/memcpy()/memmove() do a lot of memory accesses. If bad pointer passed to one of these function it is important to be caught. Compiler's instrumentation cannot do this since these functions are written in assembly. KASan replaces memory functions with manually instrumented variants. Original functions declared as weak symbols so strong definitions in mm/kasan/kasan.c could replace them. Original functions have aliases with '__' prefix in names, so we could call non-instrumented variant if needed. kfence: Add a module parameter to adjust kfence objects hulk inclusion category: feature bugzilla: https://gitee.com/openeuler/kernel/issues/I8Q3P9 -------------------------------- KFENCE is designed to be enabled in production kernels, but it can be also useful in some debug situations. For machines with limited memory and CPU resources, KASAN is really hard to run. Fortunately, KFENCE can be a suitable candidate. For KFENCE running on a single machine, the possibility of discovering existed bugs will increase as the increasing of KFENCE objects, but this will cost more memory. In order to balance the possibility of discovering existed bugs and memory cost, KFENCE objects need to be adjusted according to memory resources for a compiled kernel Image. Add a module parameter to adjust KFENCE objects will make kfence to use in different machines with the same kernel Image. In short, the following reasons motivate us to add this parameter. 1) In some debug situations, this will make kfence flexible. 2) For some production machines with different memory and CPU size, this will reduce the kernel-Image-version burden. The main change is just using kfence_num_objects to replace config CONFIG_KFENCE_NUM_OBJECTS for dynamic configuration convenient. To make compatible, kfence_metadata and alloc_covered are alloced by memblock_alloc. Unfortunately, dynamic allocation require the KFENCE pool size to be a configurable variable, which lead to additional instructions (eg, load) added to the fast path of the memory allocation. For example, drivers/net/bonding/dev_addr_lists.sh sources net/forwarding/lib.sh. If a subset of tests is exported and run outside the source tree (for example by using make -C tools/testing/selftests gen_tar TARGETS="drivers/net/bonding"), these other files must be made available as well. Commit ae108c48b5d2 ("selftests: net: Fix cross-tree inclusion of scripts") addressed this problem by symlinking and copying the sourced files but this only works for direct dependencies. Commit 25ae948b4478 ("selftests/net: add lib.sh") changed net/forwarding/lib.sh to source net/lib.sh. As a result, that latter file must be included as well when the former is exported. This was not handled and was reverted in commit 2114e83381d3 ("selftests: forwarding: Avoid failures to source net/lib.sh"). In order to allow reinstating the inclusion of net/lib.sh from net/forwarding/lib.sh, add a mechanism to list dependent files in a new Makefile variable and export them. This allows sourcing those files using the same expression whether tests are run in-tree or exported. Dependencies are not resolved recursively so transitive dependencies must be listed in TEST_INCLUDES. Documentation: dev-tools: Clarify requirements for result description Currently the KTAP specification says that a test result line is <result> <number> [<description>][ # [<directive>] [<diagnostic data>]] and the description of a test can be "any sequence of words (can't include #)" which specifies that there may be more than one word but does not specify anything other than those words which might be used to separate the words which probably isn't what we want. Given that practically we have tests using a range of separators for words including combinations of spaces and combinations of other symbols like underscores or punctuation let's just clarify that the description can contain any character other than # (marking the start of the directive/diagnostic) or newline (marking the end of this test result). ubsan: remove UBSAN_MISC in favor of individual options Make each UBSAN option individually selectable and remove UBSAN_MISC which no longer has any purpose.
