uaccess: remove CONFIG_SET_FS There are no remaining callers of set_fs(), so CONFIG_SET_FS can be removed globally, along with the thread_info field and any references to it. This turns access_ok() into a cheaper check against TASK_SIZE_MAX. As CONFIG_SET_FS is now gone, drop all remaining references to set_fs()/get_fs(), mm_segment_t, user_addr_max() and uaccess_kernel(). This also avoid of using the rtnl lock and ethtool API, which is a bottleneck when try to setup many rdma-cm connections at the same time, especially with multiple processes. RDMA: Support more than 255 rdma ports Current code uses many different types when dealing with a port of a RDMA device: u8, unsigned int and u32. Switch to u32 to clean up the logic. This allows us to make (at least) the core view consistent and use the same type. Unfortunately not all places can be converted. Many uverbs functions expect port to be u8 so keep those places in order not to break UAPIs. HW/Spec defined values must also not be changed. With the switch to u32 we now can support devices with more than 255 ports. U32_MAX is reserved to make control logic a bit easier to deal with. As a device with U32_MAX ports probably isn't going to happen any time soon this seems like a non issue. When a device with more than 255 ports is created uverbs will report the RDMA device as having 255 ports as this is the max currently supported. The verbs interface is not changed yet because the IBTA spec limits the port size in too many places to be u8 and all applications that relies in verbs won't be able to cope with this change. At this stage, we are extending the interfaces that are using vendor channel solely Once the limitation is lifted mlx5 in switchdev mode will be able to have thousands of SFs created by the device. As the only instance of an RDMA device that reports more than 255 ports will be a representor device and it exposes itself as a RAW Ethernet only device CM/MAD/IPoIB and other ULPs aren't effected by this change and their sysfs/interfaces that are exposes to userspace can remain unchanged. While here cleanup some alignment issues and remove unneeded sanity checks (mainly in rdmavt), Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210301070420.439400-1-leon@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Mark Bloch <mbloch@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Leon Romanovsky <leonro@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@nvidia.com> | 5 年前
RDMA/cm: Use DLID from inbound/outbound PathRecords as the datapath DLID In inter-subnet cases, when inbound/outbound PRs are available, outbound_PR.dlid is used as the requestor's datapath DLID and inbound_PR.dlid is used as the responder's DLID. RDMA: Extend RDMA kernel verbs ABI to support flush This commit extends the RDMA kernel verbs ABI to support the flush operation defined in IBA A19.4.1. These changes are backward compatible with the existing RDMA kernel verbs ABI. It makes device/HCA support new FLUSH attributes/capabilities, and it also makes memory region support new FLUSH access flags. Users can use ibv_reg_mr(3) to register flush access flags. Only the access flags also supported by device's capabilities can be registered successfully. Once registered successfully, it means the MR is flushable. Similarly, A flushable MR should also have one or both of GLOBAL_VISIBILITY and PERSISTENT attributes/capabilities like device/HCA. Now that all users are creating static attribute_group's we can simply set the attribute_group list in the ops and the core code can just handle it directly. This makes all the sysfs management quite straightforward and prevents any driver from abusing the naked port kobject in future because no driver code can access it. RDMA/core: Fix umem iterator when PAGE_SIZE is greater then HCA pgsz [ Upstream commit 4fbc3a52cd4d14de3793f4b2c721d7306ea84cf9 ] 64k pages introduce the situation in this diagram when the HCA 4k page size is being used: +-------------------------------------------+ <--- 64k aligned VA | | | HCA 4k page | | | +-------------------------------------------+ | o | | | | o | | | | o | +-------------------------------------------+ | | | HCA 4k page | | | +-------------------------------------------+ <--- Live HCA page |OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO| <--- offset | | <--- VA | MR data | +-------------------------------------------+ | | | HCA 4k page | | | +-------------------------------------------+ | o | | | | o | | | | o | +-------------------------------------------+ | | | HCA 4k page | | | +-------------------------------------------+ The VA addresses are coming from rdma-core in this diagram can be arbitrary, but for 64k pages, the VA may be offset by some number of HCA 4k pages and followed by some number of HCA 4k pages. The current iterator doesn't account for either the preceding 4k pages or the following 4k pages. Fix the issue by extending the ib_block_iter to contain the number of DMA pages like comment [1] says and by using __sg_advance to start the iterator at the first live HCA page. The changes are contained in a parallel set of iterator start and next functions that are umem aware and specific to umem since there is one user of the rdma_for_each_block() without umem. These two fixes prevents the extra pages before and after the user MR data. Fix the preceding pages by using the __sq_advance field to start at the first 4k page containing MR data. Fix the following pages by saving the number of pgsz blocks in the iterator state and downcounting on each next. This fix allows for the elimination of the small page crutch noted in the Fixes. However the real problem is that hw counters should never been exposed outside of the non-init net namespace. Fix this by saving the index of the corresponding attribute group (it might be 1 or 2 depending on the presence of driver-specific attributes) and zeroing the pointer to hw_counters group for compat devices during the initialization. With this fix applied hw_counters are not available in a non-init net namespace: find /sys/class/infiniband/mlx4_0/ -name hw_counters /sys/class/infiniband/mlx4_0/ports/1/hw_counters /sys/class/infiniband/mlx4_0/ports/2/hw_counters /sys/class/infiniband/mlx4_0/hw_counters ip netns add foo ip netns exec foo bash find /sys/class/infiniband/mlx4_0/ -name hw_counters Fixes: 467f432a521a ("RDMA/core: Split port and device counter sysfs attributes") Signed-off-by: Roman Gushchin <roman.gushchin@linux.dev> Cc: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@ziepe.ca> Cc: Leon Romanovsky <leon@kernel.org> Cc: Maher Sanalla <msanalla@nvidia.com> Cc: linux-rdma@vger.kernel.org Cc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.org Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20250227165420.3430301-1-roman.gushchin@linux.dev Reviewed-by: Parav Pandit <parav@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Leon Romanovsky <leon@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sashal@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> | 1 年前
RDMA/cm: Add SET/GET implementations to hide IBA wire format There is no separation between RDMA-CM wire format as it is declared in IBTA and kernel logic which implements needed support. Such situation causes to many mistakes in conversion between big-endian (wire format) and CPU format used by kernel. It also mixes RDMA core code with combination of uXX and beXX variables. The idea that all accesses to IBA definitions will go through special GET/SET macros to ensure that no conversion mistakes are made. The shifting and masking required to read the value is automatically deduced using the field offset description from the tables in the IBA specification. This starts with the CM MADs described in IBTA release 1.3 volume 1. To confirm that the new macros behave the same as the old accessors a self-test is included in this patch. Each macro replacing a straightforward struct field compile-time tests that the new field has the same offsetof() and width as the old field. For the fields with accessor functions a runtime test, the 'all ones' value is placed in a dummy message and read back in several ways to confirm that both approaches give identical results. Later patches in this series delete the self test. This creates a tested table of new field name, old field name(s) and some meta information like BE coding for the functions which will be used in the next patches. RDMA/counter: Add optional counter support An optional counter is a driver-specific counter that may be dynamically enabled/disabled. This enhancement allows drivers to expose counters which are, for example, mutually exclusive and cannot be enabled at the same time, counters that might degrades performance, optional debug counters, etc. Optional counters are marked with IB_STAT_FLAG_OPTIONAL flag. They are not exported in sysfs, and must be at the end of all stats, otherwise the attr->show() in sysfs would get wrong indexes for hwcounters that are behind optional counters. RDMA/rdmavt: Decouple QP and SGE lists allocations The rdmavt QP has fields that are both needed for the control and data path. Such mixed declaration caused to the very specific allocation flow with kzalloc_node and SGE list embedded into the struct rvt_qp. This patch separates QP creation to two: regular memory allocation for the control path and specific code for the SGE list, while the access to the later is performed through derefenced pointer. Such pointer and its context are expected to be in the cache, so performance difference is expected to be negligible, if any exists. While here cleanup some alignment issues and remove unneeded sanity checks (mainly in rdmavt), Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210301070420.439400-1-leon@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Mark Bloch <mbloch@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Leon Romanovsky <leonro@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@nvidia.com> | 5 年前

rdma: fix INFINIBAND_USER_ACCESS dependency After a change to the bnxt_re driver, it fails to link when CONFIG_INFINIBAND_USER_ACCESS is disabled: aarch64-linux-ld: drivers/infiniband/hw/bnxt_re/ib_verbs.o: in function bnxt_re_handler_BNXT_RE_METHOD_ALLOC_PAGE': ib_verbs.c:(.text+0xd64): undefined reference to ib_uverbs_get_ucontext_file' aarch64-linux-ld: drivers/infiniband/hw/bnxt_re/ib_verbs.o:(.rodata+0x168): undefined reference to uverbs_idr_class' aarch64-linux-ld: drivers/infiniband/hw/bnxt_re/ib_verbs.o:(.rodata+0x1a8): undefined reference to uverbs_destroy_def_handler' The problem is that the 'bnxt_re_uapi_defs' structure is built unconditionally and references a couple of functions that are never really called in this configuration but instead require other functions that are left out. Adding an #ifdef around the new code, or a Kconfig dependency would address this problem, but adding the compile-time check inside of the UAPI_DEF_CHAIN_OBJ_TREE_NAMED() macro seems best because that also addresses the problem in other drivers that may run into the same dependency. RDMA/uverbs: Propagate errors from rdma_lookup_get_uobject() stable inclusion from stable-6.6.93 commit 1bef1811651bc66479e211e0eee22067b549d790 category: bugfix issue: #ICCW0G CVE: NA Signed-off-by: Li Nan <linan122@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit 81f8f7454ad9e0bf95efdec6542afdc9a6ab1e24 ] Currently, the IB uverbs API calls uobj_get_uobj_read(), which in turn uses the rdma_lookup_get_uobject() helper to retrieve user objects. In case of failure, uobj_get_uobj_read() returns NULL, overriding the error code from rdma_lookup_get_uobject(). The IB uverbs API then translates this NULL to -EINVAL, masking the actual error and complicating debugging. For example, applications calling ibv_modify_qp that fails with EBUSY when retrieving the QP uobject will see the overridden error code EINVAL instead, masking the actual error. Furthermore, based on rdma-core commit: "2a22f1ced5f3 ("Merge pull request #1568 from jakemoroni/master")" Kernel's IB uverbs return values are either ignored and passed on as is to application or overridden with other errnos in a few cases. Thus, to improve error reporting and debuggability, propagate the original error from rdma_lookup_get_uobject() instead of replacing it with EINVAL. RDMA/uverbs: Allow drivers to create a new HW object during rereg_mr mlx5 has an ugly flow where it tries to allocate a new MR and replace the existing MR in the same memory during rereg. This is very complicated and buggy. Instead of trying to replace in-place inside the driver, provide support from uverbs to change the entire HW object assigned to a handle during rereg_mr. Since destroying a MR is allowed to fail (ie if a MW is pointing at it) and can't be detected in advance, the algorithm creates a completely new uobject to hold the new MR and swaps the IDR entries of the two objects. The old MR in the temporary IDR entry is destroyed, and if it fails rereg_mr succeeds and destruction is deferred to FD release. This complexity is why this cannot live in a driver safely.
