media: i2c: adv748x: Fix test pattern selection mask stable inclusion from stable-6.6.88 commit 259dafed18799e8a813e4ef131119d8f82b9a6a5 category: bugfix issue: #IC6IH3 CVE: NA Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- commit 9e38acacb9d809b97a0bdc5c76e725355a47158a upstream. The mask to select the test-pattern in register ADV748X_SDP_FRP is incorrect, it's the lower 3 bits which controls the pattern. The GENMASK() macro is used incorrectly and the generated mask is 0x0e instead of 0x07. The result is that not all test patterns are selectable, and that in some cases the wrong test pattern is activated. Fix this by correcting the GENMASK(). media: ad5820: Drop unsupported ad5823 from i2c_ and of_device_id tables The supported ad5820 and ad5821 VCMs both use a single 16 bit register which is written by sending 2 bytes with the data directly after sending the i2c-client address. The ad5823 OTOH has a more typical i2c / smbus device setup with multiple 8 bit registers where the first byte send after the i2c-client address is the register address and the actual data only starts from the second byte after the i2c-client address. The ad5823 i2c_ and of_device_id-s was added at the same time as the ad5821 ids with as rationale: """ Some camera modules also refer that AD5823 is a replacement of AD5820: https://download.kamami.com/p564094-OV8865_DS.pdf """ The AD5823 may be an electrical and functional replacement of the AD5820, but from a software pov it is not compatible at all and it is going to need its own driver, drop its id from the ad5820 driver. media: v4l2-core: v4l2-dv-timings: check cvt/gtf result stable inclusion from stable-6.6.64 commit e9bf513718d0796bf4095b45871b3d4f7e79ee94 category: bugfix issue: #IBE7K0 CVE: NA Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- commit 9f070b1862f3411b8bcdfd51a8eaad25286f9deb upstream. The v4l2_detect_cvt/gtf functions should check the result against the timing capabilities: these functions calculate the timings, so if they are out of bounds, they should be rejected. To do this, add the struct v4l2_dv_timings_cap as argument to those functions. This required updates to the adv7604 and adv7842 drivers since the prototype of these functions has now changed. The timings struct that is passed to v4l2_detect_cvt/gtf in those two drivers is filled with the timings detected by the hardware. The vivid driver was also updated, but an additional check was added: the width and height specified by VIDIOC_S_DV_TIMINGS has to match the calculated result, otherwise something went wrong. Note that vivid *emulates* hardware, so all the values passed to the v4l2_detect_cvt/gtf functions came from the timings struct that was filled by userspace and passed on to the driver via VIDIOC_S_DV_TIMINGS. So these fields can contain random data. Both the constraints check via struct v4l2_dv_timings_cap and the additional width/height check ensure that the resulting timings are sane and not messed up by the v4l2_detect_cvt/gtf calculations. media: Explicitly include correct DT includes The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. The ov02a10_check_hwcfg() function calls fwnode_handle_put(ep) immediately after allocating and parsing the endpoint. However, it subsequently calls fwnode_property_read_u32() using the same 'ep' handle, leading to a potential use-after-free. Additionally, reading the optional 'ovti,mipi-clock-voltage' property used to overwrite the 'ret' variable. If the property was missing, 'ret' would become negative, and this failure code would be incorrectly returned at the end of the function, causing probe to fail entirely. Fix the use-after-free by moving fwnode_property_read_u32() before the endpoint is parsed and freed. Avoid the error leak by not assigning the result of fwnode_property_read_u32() to 'ret'. media: v4l: async: Simplify async sub-device fwnode matching V4L2 async sub-device matching originally used the device nodes only. Endpoint nodes were taken into use instead as using the device nodes was problematic for it was in some cases ambiguous which link might have been in question. There is however no need to use endpoint nodes on both sides, as the async sub-device's fwnode can always be trivially obtained using fwnode_graph_get_remote_endpoint() when needed while what counts is whether or not the link is between two device nodes, i.e. the device nodes match. This can result in register values that produce timing violations against the MIPI standard. An example: cfg->hs_clk_rate = 294MHz hf_clk = 18 If the desired value in cfg->init is 100us, which is the minimum allowed value, then the LINEINITCNT register is calculated as 1799. But since the actual clock is 18.375MHz instead of 18MHz, this setting results in a time that is shorter than 100us and thus violates the standard. The correct value for LINEINITCNT would be 1837. Improve the precision of calculations by using Hz instead of MHz as unit. media: TDA1997x: replace video detection routine The TDA1997x (HDMI receiver) driver currently uses a specific video format detection scheme. The frame (or field in interlaced mode), line and HSync pulse durations are compared to those of known, standard video modes. If a match is found, the mode is assumed to be detected, otherwise -ERANGE is returned (then possibly ignored). This means that: - another mode with similar timings will be detected incorrectly (e.g. 2x faster clock and lines twice as long) - non-standard modes will not work. This patch replaces this scheme with a direct read of geometry registers. This way all modes recognized by the chip are supported. In interlaced modes, the code assumes the V sync signal has the same duration for both fields. While this may be not necessarily true, I can't see any way to get the "other" V sync width. This is most probably harmless. All tests have been performed on Gateworks' Ventana GW54xx board, with a TDA19971 chip. License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license. By default all files without license information are under the default license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2. Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0' SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. How this work was done: Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of the use cases: - file had no licensing information it it. - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it, - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information, Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords. The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files. The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s) to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was: - Files considered eligible had to be source code files. - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5 lines of source - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5 lines). All documentation files were explicitly excluded. The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license identifiers to apply. - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was considered to have no license information in it, and the top level COPYING file license applied. For non */uapi/* files that summary was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 11139 and resulted in the first patch in this series. If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930 and resulted in the second patch in this series. - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in it (per prior point). Results summary: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------ GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270 GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17 LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15 GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14 ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5 LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4 LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1 and that resulted in the third patch in this series. - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became the concluded license(s). - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a license but the other didn't, or they both detected different licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred. - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics). - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier, the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later in time. In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so they are related. Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks in about 15000 files. In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the correct identifier. Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch version early this week with: - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected license ids and scores - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+ files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the different types of files to be modified. These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to generate the patches. media: Explicitly include correct DT includes The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes.
