xen/events: increment refcnt only if event channel is refcounted stable inclusion from stable-6.6.23 commit cfbb3abadc330eee433e4f35124ee19f644254b7 category: bugfix issue: #IAJS6M CVE: NA Signed-off-by: yaowenrui <yaowenrui2@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit d277f9d82802223f242cd9b60c988cfdda1d6be0 ] In bind_evtchn_to_irq_chip() don't increment the refcnt of the event channel blindly. In case the event channel is NOT refcounted, issue a warning instead. xen-pciback: Consider INTx disabled when MSI/MSI-X is enabled [ Upstream commit 2c269f42d0f382743ab230308b836ffe5ae9b2ae ] Linux enables MSI-X before disabling INTx, but keeps MSI-X masked until the table is filled. Then it disables INTx just before clearing MASKALL bit. Currently this approach is rejected by xen-pciback. According to the PCIe spec, device cannot use INTx when MSI/MSI-X is enabled (in other words: enabling MSI/MSI-X implicitly disables INTx). Change the logic to consider INTx disabled if MSI/MSI-X is enabled. This applies to three places: - checking currently enabled interrupts type, - transition to MSI/MSI-X - where INTx would be implicitly disabled, - clearing INTx disable bit - which can be allowed even if MSI/MSI-X is enabled, as device should consider INTx disabled anyway in that case Fixes: 5e29500eba2a ("xen-pciback: Allow setting PCI_MSIX_FLAGS_MASKALL too") Signed-off-by: Marek Marczykowski-Górecki <marmarek@invisiblethingslab.com> Acked-by: Juergen Gross <jgross@suse.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20231016131348.1734721-1-marmarek@invisiblethingslab.com Signed-off-by: Juergen Gross <jgross@suse.com> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sashal@kernel.org> | 2 年前
xenbus: Allow PVH dom0 a non-local xenstore stable inclusion from stable-6.6.93 commit e6d703b693b4cc08d26f3e4a74cb044702d6ed40 category: bugfix issue: #ICCW0G CVE: NA Signed-off-by: Li Nan <linan122@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit 90989869baae47ee2aa3bcb6f6eb9fbbe4287958 ] Make xenbus_init() allow a non-local xenstore for a PVH dom0 - it is currently forced to XS_LOCAL. With Hyperlaunch booting dom0 and a xenstore stubdom, dom0 can be handled as a regular XS_HVM following the late init path. Ideally we'd drop the use of xen_initial_domain() and just check for the event channel instead. However, ARM has a xen, enhanced no-xenstore mode, where the event channel and PFN would both be 0. Retain the xen_initial_domain() check, and use that for an additional check when the event channel is 0. Check the full 64bit HVM_PARAM_STORE_EVTCHN value to catch the off chance that high bits are set for the 32bit event channel. xenfs/xensyms: respect hypervisor's "next" indication stable inclusion from stable-6.6.88 commit 9da005f884184efc3b32db675c21ed4160c5cd53 category: bugfix issue: #IC6IH3 CVE: NA Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- commit 5c4e79e29a9fe4ea132118ac40c2bc97cfe23077 upstream. The interface specifies the symnum field as an input and output; the hypervisor sets it to the next sequential symbol's index. xensyms_next() incrementing the position explicitly (and xensyms_next_sym() decrementing it to "rewind") is only correct as long as the sequence of symbol indexes is non-sparse. xen/grant-dma-iommu: Introduce stub IOMMU driver In order to reuse generic IOMMU device tree bindings by Xen grant DMA-mapping layer we need to add this stub driver from a fw_devlink perspective (grant-dma-ops cannot be converted into the proper IOMMU driver). Otherwise, just reusing IOMMU bindings (without having a corresponding driver) leads to the deferred probe timeout afterwards, because the IOMMU device never becomes available. This stub driver does nothing except registering empty iommu_ops, the upper layer "of_iommu" will treat this as NO_IOMMU condition and won't return -EPROBE_DEFER. As this driver is quite different from the most hardware IOMMU implementations and only needed in Xen guests, place it in drivers/xen directory. The subsequent commit will make use of it. xen/x86: fix initial memory balloon target stable inclusion from stable-6.6.94 commit 3d6e3849b691b78b851180f6384e9fe530f49520 category: bugfix issue: #ICCW0G CVE: NA Signed-off-by: Li Nan <linan122@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit 74287971dbb3fe322bb316afd9e7fb5807e23bee ] When adding extra memory regions as ballooned pages also adjust the balloon target, otherwise when the balloon driver is started it will populate memory to match the target value and consume all the extra memory regions added. This made the usage of the Xen dom0_mem=,max: command line parameter for dom0 not work as expected, as the target won't be adjusted and when the balloon is started it will populate memory straight to the 'max:' value. It would equally affect domUs that have memory != maxmem. Kernels built with CONFIG_XEN_UNPOPULATED_ALLOC are not affected, because the extra memory regions are consumed by the unpopulated allocation driver, and then balloon_add_regions() becomes a no-op. xen/cpuhotplug: Fix initial CPU offlining for PV(H) guests Commit a926f81d2f6c ("xen/cpuhotplug: Replace cpu_up/down() with device_online/offline()") replaced cpu_down() with device_offline() call which requires that the CPU has been registered before. This registration, however, happens later from topology_init() which is called as subsys_initcall(). setup_vcpu_hotplug_event(), on the other hand, is invoked earlier, during arch_initcall(). As result, booting a PV(H) guest with vcpus < maxvcpus causes a crash. Move setup_vcpu_hotplug_event() (and therefore setup_cpu_watcher()) to late_initcall(). In addition, instead of performing all offlining steps in setup_cpu_watcher() simply call disable_hotplug_cpu(). efi: Apply allowlist to EFI configuration tables when running under Xen As it turns out, Xen does not guarantee that EFI boot services data regions in memory are preserved, which means that EFI configuration tables pointing into such memory regions may be corrupted before the dom0 OS has had a chance to inspect them. This is causing problems for Qubes OS when it attempts to perform system firmware updates, which requires that the contents of the EFI System Resource Table are valid when the fwupd userspace program runs. However, other configuration tables such as the memory attributes table or the runtime properties table are equally affected, and so we need a comprehensive workaround that works for any table type. So when running under Xen, check the EFI memory descriptor covering the start of the table, and disregard the table if it does not reside in memory that is preserved by Xen. xen/manage: Use orderly_reboot() to reboot Currently when the toolstack issues a reboot, it gets translated into a call to ctrl_alt_del(). But tying reboot to ctrl-alt-del means rebooting may fail if e.g. the user has masked the ctrl-alt-del.target under systemd. A previous attempt to fix this issue made a change that sets the kernel.ctrl-alt-del sysctl to 1 before ctrl_alt_del() is called. However, this doesn't give userspace the opportunity to block rebooting or even do any cleanup or syncing. Instead, call orderly_reboot() which will call the "reboot" command, giving userspace the opportunity to block it or perform the usual reboot process while being independent of the ctrl-alt-del behaviour. It also matches what happens in the shutdown case. acpi/processor: sanitize _OSC/_PDC capabilities for Xen dom0 commit bfa993b355d33a438a746523e7129391c8664e8a upstream. The Processor capability bits notify ACPI of the OS capabilities, and so ACPI can adjust the return of other Processor methods taking the OS capabilities into account. When Linux is running as a Xen dom0, the hypervisor is the entity in charge of processor power management, and hence Xen needs to make sure the capabilities reported by _OSC/_PDC match the capabilities of the driver in Xen. Introduce a small helper to sanitize the buffer when running as Xen dom0. When Xen supports HWP, this serves as the equivalent of commit a21211672c9a ("ACPI / processor: Request native thermal interrupt handling via _OSC") to avoid SMM crashes. Xen will set bit ACPI_PROC_CAP_COLLAB_PROC_PERF (bit 12) in the capability bits and the _OSC/_PDC call will apply it. [ jandryuk: Mention Xen HWP's need. If that happens, it is possible that a kirqfd created and added to the irqfds_list by privcmd_irqfd_assign() may get removed by another thread executing privcmd_irqfd_deassign(), while the former is still using it after dropping the locks. This can lead to a situation where an already freed kirqfd instance may be accessed and cause kernel oops. Use SRCU locking to prevent the same, as is done for the KVM implementation for irqfds. xen: add new hypercall buffer mapping device For passing arbitrary data from user land to the Xen hypervisor the Xen tools today are using mlock()ed buffers. Unfortunately the kernel might change access rights of such buffers for brief periods of time e.g. for page migration or compaction, leading to access faults in the hypervisor, as the hypervisor can't use the locks of the kernel. In order to solve this problem add a new device node to the Xen privcmd driver to easily allocate hypercall buffers via mmap(). The memory is allocated in the kernel and just mapped into user space. Marked as VM_IO the user mapping will not be subject to page migration et al. Merge tag 'wq-for-6.5-cleanup-ordered' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tj/wq Pull ordered workqueue creation updates from Tejun Heo: "For historical reasons, unbound workqueues with max concurrency limit of 1 are considered ordered, even though the concurrency limit hasn't been system-wide for a long time. This creates ambiguity around whether ordered execution is actually required for correctness, which was actually confusing for e.g. btrfs (btrfs updates are being routed through the btrfs tree). There aren't that many users in the tree which use the combination and there are pending improvements to unbound workqueue affinity handling which will make inadvertent use of ordered workqueue a bigger loss. This clarifies the situation for most of them by updating the ones which require ordered execution to use alloc_ordered_workqueue(). There are some conversions being routed through subsystem-specific trees and likely a few stragglers. Once they're all converted, workqueue can trigger a warning on unbound + @max_active==1 usages and eventually drop the implicit ordered behavior" * tag 'wq-for-6.5-cleanup-ordered' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tj/wq: rxrpc: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues net: qrtr: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues net: wwan: t7xx: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues dm integrity: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues media: amphion: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues scsi: NCR5380: Use default @max_active for hostdata->work_q media: coda: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues crypto: octeontx2: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues wifi: ath10/11/12k: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues wifi: mwifiex: Use default @max_active for workqueues wifi: iwlwifi: Use default @max_active for trans_pcie->rba.alloc_wq xen/pvcalls: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues virt: acrn: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues net: octeontx2: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues net: thunderx: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues greybus: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues powerpc, workqueue: Use alloc_ordered_workqueue() to create ordered workqueues | 3 年前

ACPI: make remove callback of ACPI driver void For bus-based driver, device removal is implemented as: 1 device_remove()-> 2 bus->remove()-> 3 driver->remove() Driver core needs no inform from callee(bus driver) about the result of remove callback. In that case, commit fc7a6209d571 ("bus: Make remove callback return void") forces bus_type::remove be void-returned. Now we have the situation that both 1 & 2 of calling chain are void-returned, so it does not make much sense for 3(driver->remove) to return non-void to its caller. So the basic idea behind this change is making remove() callback of any bus-based driver to be void-returned. This change, for itself, is for device drivers based on acpi-bus. xen: Replace one-element array with flexible-array member One-element arrays are deprecated, and we are replacing them with flexible array members instead. So, replace one-element array with flexible-array member in struct xen_page_directory. This helps with the ongoing efforts to tighten the FORTIFY_SOURCE routines on memcpy() and help us make progress towards globally enabling -fstrict-flex-arrays=3 [1]. This results in no differences in binary output. xen: unexport __init-annotated xen_xlate_map_ballooned_pages() EXPORT_SYMBOL and __init is a bad combination because the .init.text section is freed up after the initialization. Hence, modules cannot use symbols annotated __init. The access to a freed symbol may end up with kernel panic. modpost used to detect it, but it has been broken for a decade. Recently, I fixed modpost so it started to warn it again, then this showed up in linux-next builds. There are two ways to fix it: - Remove __init - Remove EXPORT_SYMBOL I chose the latter for this case because none of the in-tree call-sites (arch/arm/xen/enlighten.c, arch/x86/xen/grant-table.c) is compiled as modular.
