nfs: add missing selections of CONFIG_CRC32 stable inclusion from stable-6.6.88 commit b699aeb91b1032bfd84c5062770fbb859267afbd category: bugfix issue: #IC6IH3 CVE: NA Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit cd35b6cb46649750b7dbd0df0e2d767415d8917b ] nfs.ko, nfsd.ko, and lockd.ko all use crc32_le(), which is available only when CONFIG_CRC32 is enabled. But the only NFS kconfig option that selected CONFIG_CRC32 was CONFIG_NFS_DEBUG, which is client-specific and did not actually guard the use of crc32_le() even on the client. The code worked around this bug by only actually calling crc32_le() when CONFIG_CRC32 is built-in, instead hard-coding '0' in other cases. This avoided randconfig build errors, and in real kernels the fallback code was unlikely to be reached since CONFIG_CRC32 is 'default y'. But, this really needs to just be done properly, especially now that I'm planning to update CONFIG_CRC32 to not be 'default y'. Therefore, make CONFIG_NFS_FS, CONFIG_NFSD, and CONFIG_LOCKD select CONFIG_CRC32. Then remove the fallback code that becomes unnecessary, as well as the selection of CONFIG_CRC32 from CONFIG_NFS_DEBUG. nfsd: allow disabling NFSv2 at compile time rpc.nfsd stopped supporting NFSv2 a year ago. Take the next logical step toward deprecating it and allow NFSv2 support to be compiled out. Add a new CONFIG_NFSD_V2 option that can be turned off and rework the CONFIG_NFSD_V?_ACL option dependencies. Add a description that discourages enabling it. Also, change the description of CONFIG_NFSD to state that the always-on version is now 3 instead of 2. Finally, add an #ifdef around "case 2:" in __write_versions. When NFSv2 is disabled at compile time, this should make the kernel ignore attempts to disable it at runtime, but still error out when trying to enable it. NFSD: add posix ACLs to struct nfsd_attrs pacl and dpacl pointers are added to struct nfsd_attrs, which requires that we have an nfsd_attrs_free() function to free them. Those nfsv4 functions that can set ACLs now set up these pointers based on the passed in NFSv4 ACL. nfsd_setattr() sets the acls as appropriate. Errors are handled as with security labels. License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license. By default all files without license information are under the default license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2. Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0' SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. How this work was done: Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of the use cases: - file had no licensing information it it. - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it, - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information, Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords. The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files. The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s) to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was: - Files considered eligible had to be source code files. - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5 lines of source - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5 lines). All documentation files were explicitly excluded. The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license identifiers to apply. - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was considered to have no license information in it, and the top level COPYING file license applied. For non */uapi/* files that summary was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 11139 and resulted in the first patch in this series. If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930 and resulted in the second patch in this series. - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in it (per prior point). Results summary: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------ GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270 GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17 LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15 GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14 ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5 LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4 LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1 and that resulted in the third patch in this series. - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became the concluded license(s). - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a license but the other didn't, or they both detected different licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred. - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics). - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier, the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later in time. In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so they are related. Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks in about 15000 files. In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the correct identifier. Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch version early this week with: - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected license ids and scores - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+ files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the different types of files to be modified. These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to generate the patches. nfsd: call op_release, even when op_func returns an error For ops with "trivial" replies, nfsd4_encode_operation will shortcut most of the encoding work and skip to just marshalling up the status. One of the things it skips is calling op_release. This could cause a memory leak in the layoutget codepath if there is an error at an inopportune time. Have the compound processing engine always call op_release, even when op_func sets an error in op->status. With this change, we also need nfsd4_block_get_device_info_scsi to set the gd_device pointer to NULL on error to avoid a double free. NFSD: da_addr_body field missing in some GETDEVICEINFO replies The XDR specification in RFC 8881 looks like this: struct device_addr4 { layouttype4 da_layout_type; opaque da_addr_body<>; }; struct GETDEVICEINFO4resok { device_addr4 gdir_device_addr; bitmap4 gdir_notification; }; union GETDEVICEINFO4res switch (nfsstat4 gdir_status) { case NFS4_OK: GETDEVICEINFO4resok gdir_resok4; case NFS4ERR_TOOSMALL: count4 gdir_mincount; default: void; }; Looking at nfsd4_encode_getdeviceinfo() .... When the client provides a zero gd_maxcount, then the Linux NFS server implementation encodes the da_layout_type field and then skips the da_addr_body field completely, proceeding directly to encode gdir_notification field. There does not appear to be an option in the specification to skip encoding da_addr_body. Moreover, Section 18.40.3 says: > If the client wants to just update or turn off notifications, it > MAY send a GETDEVICEINFO operation with gdia_maxcount set to zero. > In that event, if the device ID is valid, the reply's da_addr_body > field of the gdir_device_addr field will be of zero length. Since the layout drivers are responsible for encoding the da_addr_body field, put this fix inside the ->encode_getdeviceinfo methods. nfsd: move nfserrno() to vfs.c nfserrno() is common to all nfs versions, but nfsproc.c is specifically for NFSv2. Move it to vfs.c, and the prototype to vfs.h. While we're in here, remove the #ifdef EDQUOT check in this function. It's apparently a holdover from the initial merge of the nfsd code in 1997. No other place in the kernel checks that that symbol is defined before using it, so I think we can dispense with it here. NFSD: simplify struct nfsfh Most of the fields in 'struct knfsd_fh' are 2 levels deep (a union and a struct) and are accessed using macros like: #define fh_FOO fh_base.fh_new.fb_FOO This patch makes the union and struct anonymous, so that "fh_FOO" can be a name directly within 'struct knfsd_fh' and the #defines aren't needed. The file handle as a whole is sometimes accessed as "fh_base" or "fh_base.fh_pad", neither of which are particularly helpful names. As the struct holding the filehandle is now anonymous, we cannot use the name of that, so we union it with 'fh_raw' and use that where the raw filehandle is needed. fh_raw also ensure the structure is large enough for the largest possible filehandle. fh_raw is a 'char' array, removing any need to cast it for memcpy etc. SVCFH_fmt() is simplified using the "%ph" printk format. This changes the appearance of filehandles in dprintk() debugging, making them a little more precise. NFSD: Limit the number of concurrent async COPY operations stable inclusion from stable-6.6.63 commit ae267989b7b7933dfedcd26468d0a88fc3a9da9e category: bugfix issue: #IBE7K0 CVE: NA Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit aadc3bbea163b6caaaebfdd2b6c4667fbc726752 ] Nothing appears to limit the number of concurrent async COPY operations that clients can start. In addition, AFAICT each async COPY can copy an unlimited number of 4MB chunks, so can run for a long time. Thus IMO async COPY can become a DoS vector. Add a restriction mechanism that bounds the number of concurrent background COPY operations. Start simple and try to be fair -- this patch implements a per-namespace limit. An async COPY request that occurs while this limit is exceeded gets NFS4ERR_DELAY. The requesting client can choose to send the request again after a delay or fall back to a traditional read/write style copy. If there is need to make the mechanism more sophisticated, we can visit that in future patches. nfsd: inherit required unset default acls from effective set A well-formed NFSv4 ACL will always contain OWNER@/GROUP@/EVERYONE@ ACEs, but there is no requirement for inheritable entries for those entities. POSIX ACLs must always have owner/group/other entries, even for a default ACL. nfsd builds the default ACL from inheritable ACEs, but the current code just leaves any unspecified ACEs zeroed out. The result is that adding a default user or group ACE to an inode can leave it with unwanted deny entries. For instance, a newly created directory with no acl will look something like this: # NFSv4 translation by server A::OWNER@:rwaDxtTcCy A::GROUP@:rxtcy A::EVERYONE@:rxtcy # POSIX ACL of underlying file user::rwx group::r-x other::r-x ...if I then add new v4 ACE: nfs4_setfacl -a A:fd:1000:rwx /mnt/local/test ...I end up with a result like this today: user::rwx user:1000:rwx group::r-x mask::rwx other::r-x default:user::--- default:user:1000:rwx default:group::--- default:mask::rwx default:other::--- A::OWNER@:rwaDxtTcCy A::1000:rwaDxtcy A::GROUP@:rxtcy A::EVERYONE@:rxtcy D:fdi:OWNER@:rwaDx A:fdi:OWNER@:tTcCy A:fdi:1000:rwaDxtcy A:fdi:GROUP@:tcy A:fdi:EVERYONE@:tcy ...which is not at all expected. Adding a single inheritable allow ACE should not result in everyone else losing access. The setfacl command solves a silimar issue by copying owner/group/other entries from the effective ACL when none of them are set: "If a Default ACL entry is created, and the Default ACL contains no owner, owning group, or others entry, a copy of the ACL owner, owning group, or others entry is added to the Default ACL. Having nfsd do the same provides a more sane result (with no deny ACEs in the resulting set): user::rwx user:1000:rwx group::r-x mask::rwx other::r-x default:user::rwx default:user:1000:rwx default:group::r-x default:mask::rwx default:other::r-x A::OWNER@:rwaDxtTcCy A::1000:rwaDxtcy A::GROUP@:rxtcy A::EVERYONE@:rxtcy A:fdi:OWNER@:rwaDxtTcCy A:fdi:1000:rwaDxtcy A:fdi:GROUP@:rxtcy A:fdi:EVERYONE@:rxtcy Reported-by: Ondrej Valousek <ondrej.valousek@diasemi.com> Closes: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2136452 Suggested-by: Andreas Gruenbacher <agruenba@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Jeff Layton <jlayton@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Chuck Lever <chuck.lever@oracle.com> | 2 年前 | |

nfsd: decrease sc_count directly if fail to queue dl_recall stable inclusion from stable-6.6.88 commit 7d192e27a431026c58d60edf66dc6cd98d0c01fc category: bugfix issue: #IC6IH3 CVE: NA Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit a1d14d931bf700c1025db8c46d6731aa5cf440f9 ] A deadlock warning occurred when invoking nfs4_put_stid following a failed dl_recall queue operation: T1 T2 nfs4_laundromat nfs4_get_client_reaplist nfs4_anylock_blockers __break_lease spin_lock // ctx->flc_lock spin_lock // clp->cl_lock nfs4_lockowner_has_blockers locks_owner_has_blockers spin_lock // flctx->flc_lock nfsd_break_deleg_cb nfsd_break_one_deleg nfs4_put_stid refcount_dec_and_lock spin_lock // clp->cl_lock When a file is opened, an nfs4_delegation is allocated with sc_count initialized to 1, and the file_lease holds a reference to the delegation. The file_lease is then associated with the file through kernel_setlease. The disassociation is performed in nfsd4_delegreturn via the following call chain: nfsd4_delegreturn --> destroy_delegation --> destroy_unhashed_deleg --> nfs4_unlock_deleg_lease --> kernel_setlease --> generic_delete_lease The corresponding sc_count reference will be released after this disassociation. Since nfsd_break_one_deleg executes while holding the flc_lock, the disassociation process becomes blocked when attempting to acquire flc_lock in generic_delete_lease. This means: 1) sc_count in nfsd_break_one_deleg will not be decremented to 0; 2) The nfs4_put_stid called by nfsd_break_one_deleg will not attempt to acquire cl_lock; 3) Consequently, no deadlock condition is created. Given that sc_count in nfsd_break_one_deleg remains non-zero, we can safely perform refcount_dec on sc_count directly. This approach effectively avoids triggering deadlock warnings. nfsd: fix heap overflow in NFSv4.0 LOCK replay cache mainline inclusion from mainline-6.6 commit 5133b61aaf437e5f25b1b396b14242a6bb0508e2 category: bugfix CVE: CVE-2026-31402 Signed-off-by: 姜小林 <jiangxiaolin11@huawei.com> Co-Authored-By: Agent ------------------------------- The NFSv4.0 replay cache uses a fixed 112-byte inline buffer (rp_ibuf[NFSD4_REPLAY_ISIZE]) to store encoded operation responses. This size was calculated based on OPEN responses and does not account for LOCK denied responses, which include the conflicting lock owner as a variable-length field up to 1024 bytes (NFS4_OPAQUE_LIMIT). When a LOCK operation is denied due to a conflict with an existing lock that has a large owner, nfsd4_encode_operation() copies the full encoded response into the undersized replay buffer via read_bytes_from_xdr_buf() with no bounds check. This results in a slab-out-of-bounds write of up to 944 bytes past the end of the buffer, corrupting adjacent heap memory. This can be triggered remotely by an unauthenticated attacker with two cooperating NFSv4.0 clients: one sets a lock with a large owner string, then the other requests a conflicting lock to provoke the denial. We could fix this by increasing NFSD4_REPLAY_ISIZE to allow for a full opaque, but that would increase the size of every stateowner, when most lockowners are not that large. Instead, fix this by checking the encoded response length against NFSD4_REPLAY_ISIZE before copying into the replay buffer. If the response is too large, set rp_buflen to 0 to skip caching the replay payload. The status is still cached, and the client already received the correct response on the original request. The /proc/fs/nfs/exports proc entry is created at module init and persists for the module's lifetime. exports_proc_open() captures the caller's current network namespace and stores its svc_export_cache in seq->private, but takes no reference on the namespace. If the namespace is subsequently torn down (e.g. container destruction after the opener does setns() to a different namespace), nfsd_net_exit() calls nfsd_export_shutdown() which frees the cache. Subsequent reads on the still-open fd dereference the freed cache_detail, walking a freed hash table. Hold a reference on the struct net for the lifetime of the open file descriptor. This prevents nfsd_net_exit() from running -- and thus prevents nfsd_export_shutdown() from freeing the cache -- while any exports fd is open. cache_detail already stores its net pointer (cd->net, set by cache_create_net()), so exports_release() can retrieve it without additional per-file storage. nfs: add missing selections of CONFIG_CRC32 stable inclusion from stable-6.6.88 commit b699aeb91b1032bfd84c5062770fbb859267afbd category: bugfix issue: #IC6IH3 CVE: NA Signed-off-by: zyf1116 <zhouyongfei3@huawei.com> --------------------------------------- [ Upstream commit cd35b6cb46649750b7dbd0df0e2d767415d8917b ] nfs.ko, nfsd.ko, and lockd.ko all use crc32_le(), which is available only when CONFIG_CRC32 is enabled. This script was further refined by Greg based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to generate the patches. nfsd: fix heap overflow in NFSv4.0 LOCK replay cache mainline inclusion from mainline-6.6 commit 5133b61aaf437e5f25b1b396b14242a6bb0508e2 category: bugfix CVE: CVE-2026-31402 Signed-off-by: 姜小林 <jiangxiaolin11@huawei.com> Co-Authored-By: Agent ------------------------------- The NFSv4.0 replay cache uses a fixed 112-byte inline buffer (rp_ibuf[NFSD4_REPLAY_ISIZE]) to store encoded operation responses. The event class nfsd_clid_class has: __string_len(name, name, clp->cl_name.len) But the second "name" does not exist and causes my changes to fail to build. NFSD: NFSv4 file creation neglects setting ACL stable inclusion from stable-6.6.105 commit 913f7cf77bf1 category: bugfix issue: #223 CVE: CVE-2025-68803 Signed-off-by: zxl <1554188414@qq.com> ------------------------------- NFSD: NFSv4 file creation neglects setting ACL An NFSv4 client that sets an ACL with a named principal during file creation retrieves the ACL afterwards, and finds that it is only a default ACL (based on the mode bits) and not the ACL that was requested during file creation. This violates RFC 8881 section 6.4.1.3: "the ACL attribute is set as given". The issue occurs in nfsd_create_setattr(), which calls nfsd_attrs_valid() to determine whether to call nfsd_setattr(). However, nfsd_attrs_valid() checks only for iattr changes and security labels, but not POSIX ACLs. When only an ACL is present, the function returns false, nfsd_setattr() is skipped, and the POSIX ACL is never applied to the inode. Subsequently, when the client retrieves the ACL, the server finds no POSIX ACL on the inode and returns one generated from the file's mode bits rather than returning the originally-specified ACL.
