Documentation/arch/x86: Hide clearcpuid= This option was never meant to be used in production because it solely clears the X86_FEATURE kernel-internal representation of what CPUID bits it has detected and doesn't do any *proper* feature disablement like clearing CR4.CET in the user shadow stack case, for example. So remove its documentation so that it doesn't get used in production and people get silly ideas. It is meant strictly for debugging; and if a chicken bit for properly disabling a feature is warranted, then that would need proper enablement. No functional changes. This is unfortunate and unnecessary. Let's always use paths relative to $srctree/Documentation/ and use subprocess.check_call() instead of subprocess.Popen(shell=True). This also makes the code shorter. x86/shstk: Add ARCH_SHSTK_STATUS CRIU and GDB need to get the current shadow stack and WRSS enablement status. This information is already available via /proc/pid/status, but this is inconvenient for CRIU because it involves parsing the text output in an area of the code where this is difficult. Provide a status arch_prctl(), ARCH_SHSTK_STATUS for retrieving the status. Have arg2 be a userspace address, and make the new arch_prctl simply copy the features out to userspace. x86/cpu: Move cpu_l[l2]c_id into topology info mainline inclusion from mainline-v6.7-rc1 category: feature The topology IDs which identify the LLC and L2 domains clearly belong to the per CPU topology information. Move them into cpuinfo_x86::cpuinfo_topo and get rid of the extra per CPU data and the related exports. This also paves the way to do proper topology evaluation during early boot because it removes the only per CPU dependency for that. No functional change.
