tipc: not enable tipc when ipv6 works as a module When using ipv6_dev_find() in one module, it requires ipv6 not to work as a module. Otherwise, this error occurs in build: undefined reference to `ipv6_dev_find'. So fix it by adding "depends on IPV6 || IPV6=n" to tipc/Kconfig, as it does in sctp/Kconfig. tipc: fix out-of-bounds read in broadcast Gap ACK blocks commit 2b66974a1b6134a4bbc3bfed181f7418f688eb54 upstream. A broadcast PROTOCOL/STATE_MSG can carry a Gap ACK blocks record in its data area. tipc_get_gap_ack_blks() only verifies that the record's len field is self-consistent with its ugack_cnt/bgack_cnt counts (sz == struct_size(p, gacks, ugack_cnt + bgack_cnt)); it does not check that the record actually fits in the message data area, msg_data_sz(). The unicast caller tipc_link_proto_rcv() bounds it ("if (glen > dlen) break;"), but the broadcast caller tipc_bcast_sync_rcv() discards the returned size, so tipc_link_advance_transmq() copies the record off the receive skb with an attacker-controlled count: this_ga = kmemdup(ga, struct_size(ga, gacks, ga->bgack_cnt), GFP_ATOMIC); A TIPC neighbour that negotiated TIPC_GAP_ACK_BLOCK triggers it with one ordinary broadcast STATE_MSG (msg_bc_ack_invalid() clear), sized so its data area is short, carrying a Gap ACK record with len = 0x400, bgack_cnt = 0xff and ugack_cnt = 0. len then equals struct_size(p, gacks, 255), so the consistency check passes and ga is non-NULL; kmemdup() reads struct_size(ga, gacks, 255) = 1024 bytes out of the much smaller skb: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in kmemdup_noprof+0x48/0x60 Read of size 1024 at addr ffff0000c7030d38 by task poc864/69 Call trace: kmemdup_noprof+0x48/0x60 tipc_link_advance_transmq+0x86c/0xb80 tipc_link_bc_ack_rcv+0x19c/0x1e0 tipc_bcast_sync_rcv+0x1c4/0x2c4 tipc_rcv+0x85c/0x1340 tipc_l2_rcv_msg+0xac/0x104 The buggy address belongs to the object at ffff0000c7030d00 which belongs to the cache skbuff_small_head of size 704 The buggy address is located 56 bytes inside of allocated 704-byte region [ffff0000c7030d00, ffff0000c7030fc0) The copied-out bytes are subsequently consumed as gap/ack values, but the read is already out of bounds at the kmemdup() regardless of how they are used. tipc: fix UAF in tipc_l2_send_msg() [ Upstream commit f4c3d89fc986b0da196ddfc6cfe0ea5d5d08bec6 ] Syzbot reported a slab-use-after-free in ipvlan_hard_header() when called from tipc_l2_send_msg(). The root cause is that tipc_disable_l2_media() calls synchronize_net() while b->media_ptr is still valid. This allows concurrent RCU readers to obtain the device pointer after synchronize_net() has finished. The pointer is cleared later in bearer_disable(), but without any subsequent synchronization, allowing the device to be freed while still in use by readers. Fix this by clearing b->media_ptr in tipc_disable_l2_media() before calling synchronize_net(). This is safe to do now because the call order in bearer_disable() was reversed in 0d051bf93c06 ("tipc: make bearer packet filtering generic") to call tipc_node_delete_links() (which needs the pointer) before disable_media(). tipc: fix use-after-free of the discoverer in tipc_disc_rcv() [ Upstream commit 1579342d71133da7f00daa02c75cebec7372097b ] bearer_disable() frees b->disc with tipc_disc_delete()'s plain kfree(), but tipc_disc_rcv() still dereferences b->disc in RX softirq under rcu_read_lock() (tipc_udp_recv -> tipc_rcv -> tipc_disc_rcv). L2 bearers are safe thanks to the synchronize_net() in tipc_disable_l2_media(), but the UDP bearer defers that call to the cleanup_bearer() workqueue, so the discoverer is freed with no grace period: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in tipc_disc_rcv (net/tipc/discover.c:149) Read of size 8 at addr ffff88802348b728 by task poc_tipc/184 <IRQ> tipc_disc_rcv (net/tipc/discover.c:149) tipc_rcv (net/tipc/node.c:2126) tipc_udp_recv (net/tipc/udp_media.c:391) udp_rcv (net/ipv4/udp.c:2643) ip_local_deliver_finish (net/ipv4/ip_input.c:241) </IRQ> Freed by task 181: kfree (mm/slub.c:6565) bearer_disable (net/tipc/bearer.c:418) tipc_nl_bearer_disable (net/tipc/bearer.c:1001) The bearer is freed with kfree_rcu(); free the discoverer the same way. Add an rcu_head to struct tipc_discoverer and free it and its skb from an RCU callback. Because the RCU callback (tipc_disc_free_rcu) lives in module text, a call_rcu() that is still pending when the tipc module is unloaded would invoke a freed function. Add an rcu_barrier() to tipc_exit() after the bearer subsystem has been torn down, so all pending discoverer callbacks have run before the module text goes away. Reachable from an unprivileged user namespace: the TIPCv2 genl family is netnsok and its bearer commands have no GENL_ADMIN_PERM. Needs CONFIG_TIPC and CONFIG_TIPC_MEDIA_UDP. minmax: add in_range() macro Patch series "New page table range API", v6. This patchset changes the API used by the MM to set up page table entries. The four APIs are: set_ptes(mm, addr, ptep, pte, nr) update_mmu_cache_range(vma, addr, ptep, nr) flush_dcache_folio(folio) flush_icache_pages(vma, page, nr) flush_dcache_folio() isn't technically new, but no architecture implemented it, so I've done that for them. The old APIs remain around but are mostly implemented by calling the new interfaces. The new APIs are based around setting up N page table entries at once. The N entries belong to the same PMD, the same folio and the same VMA, so ptep++ is a legitimate operation, and locking is taken care of for you. Some architectures can do a better job of it than just a loop, but I have hesitated to make too deep a change to architectures I don't understand well. One thing I have changed in every architecture is that PG_arch_1 is now a per-folio bit instead of a per-page bit when used for dcache clean/dirty tracking. This was something that would have to happen eventually, and it makes sense to do it now rather than iterate over every page involved in a cache flush and figure out if it needs to happen. The point of all this is better performance, and Fengwei Yin has measured improvement on x86. I suspect you'll see improvement on your architecture too. Try the new will-it-scale test mentioned here: https://lore.kernel.org/linux-mm/20230206140639.538867-5-fengwei.yin@intel.com/ You'll need to run it on an XFS filesystem and have CONFIG_TRANSPARENT_HUGEPAGE set. This patchset is the basis for much of the anonymous large folio work being done by Ryan, so it's received quite a lot of testing over the last few months. This patch (of 38): Determine if a value lies within a range more efficiently (subtraction + comparison vs two comparisons and an AND). It also has useful (under some circumstances) behaviour if the range exceeds the maximum value of the type. Convert all the conflicting definitions of in_range() within the kernel; some can use the generic definition while others need their own definition. tipc: fix slab-use-after-free Read in tipc_aead_decrypt_done commit bda3348872a2ef0d19f2df6aa8cb5025adce2f20 upstream. tipc_aead_decrypt() goes straight from tipc_bearer_hold(b) to crypto_aead_decrypt(req) without taking a reference on the netns, unlike the encrypt path. When crypto_aead_decrypt() is offloaded asynchronously (e.g. the SIMD aead wrapper queuing to cryptd), the cryptd worker runs tipc_aead_decrypt_done() later. If the bearer's netns is torn down in the meantime, cleanup_net() -> tipc_exit_net() -> tipc_crypto_stop() frees the per-netns tipc_crypto, and the completion then reads it: tipc_aead_decrypt_done() dereferences aead->crypto->stats and aead->crypto->net, and tipc_crypto_rcv_complete() dereferences aead->crypto->aead[] and the node table -- reading freed memory. Decoded KASAN splat (v7.1-rc7, CONFIG_KASAN_INLINE + TIPC + TIPC_CRYPTO): BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in tipc_aead_decrypt_done (net/tipc/crypto.c:999) Read of size 8 at addr ffff8881056258a8 by task kworker/u16:2/51 Workqueue: events_unbound Call Trace: tipc_aead_decrypt_done (net/tipc/crypto.c:999) process_one_work (kernel/workqueue.c:3314) worker_thread (kernel/workqueue.c:3397 kernel/workqueue.c:3478) kthread (kernel/kthread.c:436) ret_from_fork (arch/x86/kernel/process.c:158) ret_from_fork_asm (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:245) Allocated by task 169: __kasan_kmalloc (mm/kasan/common.c:398 mm/kasan/common.c:415) tipc_crypto_start (net/tipc/crypto.c:1502) tipc_init_net (net/tipc/core.c:72) ops_init (net/core/net_namespace.c:137) setup_net (net/core/net_namespace.c:446) copy_net_ns (net/core/net_namespace.c:579) create_new_namespaces (kernel/nsproxy.c:132) __x64_sys_unshare (kernel/fork.c:3316) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:121) Freed by task 8: kfree (mm/slub.c:6566) tipc_exit_net (net/tipc/core.c:119) cleanup_net (net/core/net_namespace.c:704) process_one_work (kernel/workqueue.c:3314) kthread (kernel/kthread.c:436) This is the same class of bug that commit e279024617134 ("net/tipc: fix slab-use-after-free Read in tipc_aead_encrypt_done") fixed for the encrypt side. The encrypt path takes maybe_get_net(aead->crypto->net) before crypto_aead_encrypt() and drops it with put_net() on the synchronous return paths and in tipc_aead_encrypt_done(); the -EINPROGRESS/-EBUSY return keeps the reference for the async callback to release. The decrypt path was left without the equivalent guard. Mirror the encrypt-side fix on the decrypt path: take a net reference before crypto_aead_decrypt() (failing with -ENODEV and the matching bearer put if it cannot be acquired), keep it across the -EINPROGRESS/-EBUSY async return, and drop it with put_net() on the synchronous success/error return and at the end of tipc_aead_decrypt_done(). Reproduced under KASAN on v7.1-rc7: a UDP bearer with a cluster key is flooded with crafted encrypted frames from an unknown peer (driving the cluster-key decrypt path) while the bearer's netns is repeatedly torn down. The completion must run asynchronously to outlive tipc_crypto_stop(); on x86 the stock aesni gcm(aes) now decrypts synchronously, so the async path was exercised via cryptd offload. The unguarded aead->crypto dereference in tipc_aead_decrypt_done() is the unpatched upstream path; tipc_aead_decrypt() still lacks maybe_get_net(aead->crypto->net), so the completion can outlive the free on any config where crypto_aead_decrypt() goes async. Needs CONFIG_TIPC and CONFIG_TIPC_MEDIA_UDP. tipc: fix bc_ackers underflow on duplicate GRP_ACK_MSG commit 48a5fe38772b6f039522469ee6131a67838221a8 upstream. The GRP_ACK_MSG handler in tipc_group_proto_rcv() currently decrements bc_ackers on every inbound group ACK, even when the same member has already acknowledged the current broadcast round. Because bc_ackers is a u16, a duplicate ACK received after the last legitimate ACK wraps the counter to 65535. Once wrapped, tipc_group_bc_cong() keeps reporting congestion and later group broadcasts on the affected socket stay blocked until the group is recreated. Fix this by ignoring duplicate or stale ACKs before touching bc_acked or bc_ackers. This makes repeated GRP_ACK_MSG handling idempotent and prevents the underflow path. tipc: update mon's self addr when node addr generated In commit 25b0b9c4e835 ("tipc: handle collisions of 32-bit node address hash values"), the 32-bit node address only generated after one second trial period expired. However the self's addr in struct tipc_monitor do not update according to node address generated. This lead to it is always zero as initial value. As result, sorting algorithm using this value does not work as expected, neither neighbor monitoring framework. In this commit, we add a fix to update self's addr when 32-bit node address generated. tipc: fix double-free in tipc_buf_append() [ Upstream commit d293ca716e7d5dffdaecaf6b9b2f857a33dc3d3a ] tipc_msg_validate() can potentially reallocate the skb it is validating, freeing the old one. In tipc_buf_append(), it was being called with a pointer to a local variable which was a copy of the caller's skb pointer. If the skb was reallocated and validation subsequently failed, the error handling path would free the original skb pointer, which had already been freed, leading to double-free. Fix this by checking if head now points to a newly allocated reassembled skb. If it does, reassign *headbuf for later freeing operations. tipc: reject inverted service ranges from peer bindings [ Upstream commit 2afb648f7b99216c687db1f89739c995e1144153 ] tipc_update_nametbl() inserts a binding advertised by a peer node using the lower and upper service-range bounds taken directly from the wire, without checking that lower <= upper. The local bind path validates the ordering (tipc_uaddr_valid()), but the name-distribution path does not. A binding with lower > upper is inserted at the far end of the service-range rbtree (keyed on lower) where no lookup or withdrawal can ever match it (service_range_foreach_match() requires sr->lower <= end). The publication, its service_range node and the augmented rbtree entry are then leaked for the lifetime of the namespace, and there is no per-peer cap equivalent to TIPC_MAX_PUBL on locally created bindings. Reject inverted ranges in the network path as well. A peer node can otherwise leak unbounded binding-table memory by sending PUBLICATION items with lower > upper. tipc: fix duplicate publication key in tipc_service_insert_publ() [ Upstream commit 3aa677625c8fad39989496c51bcff3872c1f16f1 ] TIPC uses named table to store TIPC services represented by type and instance. Each time an application calls TIPC API bind() to bind a type/instance to a socket, an entry is created and inserted into the named table. It looks like this: named table: key1, entry1 (type, instance ...) key2, entry2 (type, instance ...) In the above table, each entry represents a route for sending data from one socket to the other. For all publications originated from the same node, the key is UNIQUE to identify each entry. It is calculated by this formula: key = socket portid + number of bindings + 1 (1) where: - socket portid: unique and calculated by using linux kernel function get_random_u32_below(). So, the value is randomized. - number of bindings: the number of times a type/instance pair is bound to a socket. This number is linearly increased, starting from 0. While the socket portid is unique and randomized by linux kernel, the linear increment of "number of bindings" in formula (1) makes "key" not unique anymore. For example: - Socket 1 is created with its associated port number 20062001. Type 1000, instance 1 is bound to socket 1: key1: 20062001 + 0 + 1 = 20062002 Then, bind() is called a second time on Socket 1 to by the same type 1000, instance 1: key2: 20062001 + 1 + 1 = 20062003 Named table: key1 (20062002), entry1 (1000, 1 ...) key2 (20062003), entry2 (1000, 1 ...) - Socket 2 is created with its associated port number 20062002. Type 1000, instance 1 is bound to socket 2: key3: 20062002 + 0 + 1 = 20062003 TIPC looks up the named table and finds out that key2 with the same value already exists and rejects the insertion into the named table. This leads to failure of bind() call from application on Socket 2 with error message EINVAL "Invalid argument". This commit fixes this issue by adding more port id checking to make sure that the key is unique to publications originated from the same port id and node. tipc: require net admin for TIPCv2 netlink mutators [ Upstream commit 86b0c540e2ea397cde021eecd24145f7c16a3d4e ] TIPCv2 registers mutating generic-netlink operations without admin permission flags. Generic netlink only checks CAP_NET_ADMIN when an operation sets GENL_ADMIN_PERM or GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM, so a local unprivileged process can currently change TIPC state through commands such as TIPC_NL_NET_SET, TIPC_NL_KEY_SET, TIPC_NL_KEY_FLUSH, and bearer enable/disable. The legacy TIPC netlink API already checks netlink_net_capable(..., CAP_NET_ADMIN) for administrative commands. Give the TIPCv2 mutators the equivalent generic-netlink gate. Use GENL_UNS_ADMIN_PERM, which maps to the same namespace-aware CAP_NET_ADMIN check that netlink_net_capable() performs, so the behaviour matches the legacy path and keeps working for CAP_NET_ADMIN holders in a non-initial user namespace (containers). A QEMU/KASAN repro run as uid/gid 65534 with zero effective capabilities previously succeeded in changing the network id and node identity, setting and flushing key material, and enabling/disabling a UDP bearer. With this patch applied the same operations fail with -EPERM. tipc: fix out-of-bounds read in broadcast Gap ACK blocks commit 2b66974a1b6134a4bbc3bfed181f7418f688eb54 upstream. The unicast STATE path drops such a message: "if (glen > dlen) break;" skips the rest of STATE_MSG handling and the skb is freed. Make the broadcast path drop it too. tipc_bcast_sync_rcv() now bounds the record against msg_data_sz() and, when it does not fit, reports it back through tipc_node_bc_sync_rcv() to tipc_rcv() so the skb is discarded rather than processed. ga is not cleared on this path: ga == NULL already means "legacy peer without Selective ACK", a distinct legitimate state. tipc: add automatic session key exchange With support from the master key option in the previous commit, it becomes easy to make frequent updates/exchanges of session keys between authenticated cluster nodes. Basically, there are two situations where the key exchange will take in place: - When a new node joins the cluster (with the master key), it will need to get its peer's TX key, so that be able to decrypt further messages from that peer. - When a new session key is generated (by either user manual setting or later automatic rekeying feature), the key will be distributed to all peer nodes in the cluster. A key to be exchanged is encapsulated in the data part of a 'MSG_CRYPTO /KEY_DISTR_MSG' TIPC v2 message, then xmit-ed as usual and encrypted by using the master key before sending out. Upon receipt of the message it will be decrypted in the same way as regular messages, then attached as the sender's RX key in the receiver node. In this way, the key exchange is reliable by the link layer, as well as security, integrity and authenticity by the crypto layer. Also, the forward security will be easily achieved by user changing the master key actively but this should not be required very frequently. The key exchange feature is independent on the presence of a master key Note however that the master key still is needed for new nodes to be able to join the cluster. It is also optional, and can be turned off/on via the sysfs: 'net/tipc/key_exchange_enabled' [default 1: enabled]. Backward compatibility is guaranteed because for nodes that do not have master key support, key exchange using master key ie. tx_key = 0 if any will be shortly discarded at the message validation step. In other words, the key exchange feature will be automatically disabled to those nodes. v2: fix the "implicit declaration of function 'tipc_crypto_key_flush'" error in node.c. The function only exists when built with the TIPC "CONFIG_TIPC_CRYPTO" option. v3: use 'info->extack' for a message emitted due to netlink operations instead (- David's comment). tipc: prevent snt_unacked underflow on CONN_ACK [ Upstream commit ab3e10b44ba5411779aac7afd2477917dd77750f ] tipc_sk_conn_proto_rcv() subtracts the peer-supplied connection ack count from the unsigned 16-bit send counter snt_unacked without checking that it does not exceed the number of messages actually outstanding: tsk->snt_unacked -= msg_conn_ack(hdr); msg_conn_ack() is read straight from a received CONN_MANAGER/CONN_ACK message. If the ack count is larger than snt_unacked, the subtraction wraps to a near-maximum value, leaving tsk_conn_cong() permanently true and starving the connection of further transmits. Validate the ACK count at the start of the CONN_ACK block and drop the message if it acknowledges more messages than are outstanding. A peer (or, for a local connection, the connected peer socket) can otherwise wedge a TIPC connection's send side by sending an oversized connection ack. tipc: add stricter control of reserved service types TIPC reserves 64 service types for current and future internal use. Therefore, the bind() function is meant to block regular user sockets from being bound to these values, while it should let through such bindings from internal users. However, since we at the design moment saw no way to distinguish between regular and internal users the filter function ended up with allowing all bindings of the reserved types which were really in use ([0,1]), and block all the rest ([2,63]). This is risky, since a regular user may bind to the service type representing the topology server (TIPC_TOP_SRV == 1) or the one used for indicating neighboring node status (TIPC_CFG_SRV == 0), and wreak havoc for users of those services, i.e., most users. The reality is however that TIPC_CFG_SRV never is bound through the bind() function, since it doesn't represent a regular socket, and TIPC_TOP_SRV can also be made to bypass the checks in tipc_bind() by introducing a different entry function, tipc_sk_bind(). It should be noted that although this is a change of the API semantics, there is no risk we will break any currently working applications by doing this. Any application trying to bind to the values in question would be badly broken from the outset, so there is no chance we would find any such applications in real-world production systems. v2: Added warning printout when a user is blocked from binding, as suggested by Jakub Kicinski Acked-by: Yung Xue <ying.xue@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Jon Maloy <jmaloy@redhat.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20201030012938.489557-1-jmaloy@redhat.com Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> | 5 年前 | |

[0] tipc_topsrv_stop() iterates tipc_net(net)->topsrv->conn_idr and calls tipc_conn_close() for each tipc_conn. The problem is that tipc_conn_close() is called after releasing the IDR lock. At the same time, there might be tipc_conn_recv_work() running and it could call tipc_conn_close() for the same tipc_conn and release its last ->kref. Once we release the IDR lock in tipc_topsrv_stop(), there is no guarantee that the tipc_conn is alive. Let's hold the ref before releasing the lock and put the ref after tipc_conn_close() in tipc_topsrv_stop(). tipc: rename tipc_server to tipc_topsrv We rename struct tipc_server to struct tipc_topsrv. This reflect its now specialized role as topology server. Accoringly, we change or add function prefixes to make it clearer which functionality those belong to. There are no functional changes in this commit. tipc: add support for broadcast rcv stats dumping This commit enables dumping the statistics of a broadcast-receiver link like the traditional 'broadcast-link' one (which is for broadcast- sender). The link dumping can be triggered via netlink (e.g. the iproute2/tipc tool) by the link flag - 'TIPC_NLA_LINK_BROADCAST' as the indicator. The name of a broadcast-receiver link of a specific peer will be in the format: 'broadcast-link:<peer-id>'. For example: Link <broadcast-link:1001002> Window:50 packets RX packets:7841 fragments:2408/440 bundles:0/0 TX packets:0 fragments:0/0 bundles:0/0 RX naks:0 defs:124 dups:0 TX naks:21 acks:0 retrans:0 Congestion link:0 Send queue max:0 avg:0 In addition, the broadcast-receiver link statistics can be reset in the usual way via netlink by specifying that link name in command. Note: the 'tipc_link_name_ext()' is removed because the link name can now be retrieved simply via the 'l->name'. tipc: implement configuration of UDP media MTU In previous commit, we changed the default emulated MTU for UDP bearers to 14k. This commit adds the functionality to set/change the default value by configuring new MTU for UDP media. UDP bearer(s) have to be disabled and enabled back for the new MTU to take effect.
