bpftool: Extend net dump with tcx progs Add support to dump fd-based attach types via bpftool. This includes both the tc BPF link and attach ops programs. Dumped information contain the attach location, function entry name, program ID and link ID when applicable. Example with tc BPF link: # ./bpftool net xdp: tc: bond0(4) tcx/ingress cil_from_netdev prog_id 784 link_id 10 bond0(4) tcx/egress cil_to_netdev prog_id 804 link_id 11 flow_dissector: netfilter: Example with tc BPF attach ops: # ./bpftool net xdp: tc: bond0(4) tcx/ingress cil_from_netdev prog_id 654 bond0(4) tcx/egress cil_to_netdev prog_id 672 flow_dissector: netfilter: Currently, permanent flags are not yet supported, so 'unknown' ones are dumped via NET_DUMP_UINT_ONLY() and once we do have permanent ones, we dump them as human readable string. bpftool: Specify XDP Hints ifname when loading program Add ability to specify a network interface used to resolve XDP hints kfuncs when loading program through bpftool. Usage: bpftool prog load [...] xdpmeta_dev <ifname> Writing just 'dev <ifname>' instead of 'xdpmeta_dev' is a very probable mistake that results in not very descriptive errors, so 'bpftool prog load [...] dev <ifname>' syntax becomes deprecated, followed by 'bpftool map create [...] dev <ifname>' for consistency. Now, to offload program, execute: bpftool prog load [...] offload_dev <ifname> To offload map: bpftool map create [...] offload_dev <ifname> 'dev <ifname>' still performs offloading in the commands above, but now triggers a warning and is excluded from bash completion. 'xdpmeta_dev' and 'offload_dev' are mutually exclusive options, because 'xdpmeta_dev' basically makes a program device-bound without loading it onto the said device. For now, offloaded programs cannot use XDP hints [0], but if this changes, using 'offload_dev <ifname>' should cover this case. bpftool: Fix SPDX tag for Makefiles and .gitignore Bpftool is dual-licensed under GPLv2 and BSD-2-Clause. In commit 907b22365115 ("tools: bpftool: dual license all files") we made sure that all its source files were indeed covered by the two licenses, and that they had the correct SPDX tags. However, bpftool's Makefile, the Makefile for its documentation, and the .gitignore file were skipped at the time (their GPL-2.0-only tag was added later). Let's update the tags. bpftool: Support printing opcodes and source file references in CFG Add support for displaying opcodes or/and file references (filepath, line and column numbers) when dumping the control flow graphs of loaded BPF programs with bpftool. bpf, bpftool: Fix incorrect disasm pc [ Upstream commit 4d99e509c161f8610de125202c648fa4acd00541 ] This patch addresses the bpftool issue "Wrong callq address displayed"[0]. For LLVM: The PC argument must represent the actual address in the kernel to compute the correct relative address. For libbfd: The relative address can be adjusted by adding func_ksym within the custom info->print_address_func to yield the correct address. For now, offloaded programs cannot use XDP hints [0], but if this changes, using 'offload_dev <ifname>' should cover this case. bpftool: Fix error message of strerror strerror() expects a positive errno, however variable err will never be positive when an error occurs. This causes bpftool to output too many "unknown error", even a simple "file not exist" error can not get an accurate message. This patch fixed all "strerror(err)" patterns in bpftool. Specially in btf.c#L823, hashmap__append() is an internal function of libbpf and will not change errno, so there's a little difference. Some libbpf_get_error() calls are kept for return values. Changes since v1: https://lore.kernel.org/bpf/SY4P282MB1084B61CD8671DFA395AA8579D539@SY4P282MB1084.AUSP282.PROD.OUTLOOK.COM/ Check directly for NULL values instead of calling libbpf_get_error(). bpftool: Use libbpf error code for flow dissector query [ Upstream commit 8a7f2bff2165e53595d1e91c160b340f978c0ab7 ] bpf_prog_query() returns a negative errno on failure. query_flow_dissector() currently closes the namespace fd and then reads errno to decide whether -EINVAL means that the running kernel does not support flow dissector queries. That errno check controls behavior, not just diagnostics: -EINVAL is handled as a non-fatal old-kernel case, while any other error makes bpftool net fail. The namespace fd is opened read-only, so close() is not expected to commonly fail in normal use. Still, the BPF_PROG_QUERY error is already available in err, and reading errno after an intervening close() is fragile. If close() does change errno, the compatibility branch may be based on close()'s error instead of the BPF_PROG_QUERY result. This was reproduced with an LD_PRELOAD fault injector that forced BPF_PROG_QUERY for BPF_FLOW_DISSECTOR to fail with EINVAL and then forced close() on the netns fd to fail with EIO. The unpatched bpftool reported "can't query prog: Input/output error". With this change, the same injected failure is handled as the intended non-fatal EINVAL compatibility case. Use the libbpf-returned error code instead. Keep the existing errno reset in the non-fatal path to preserve batch mode behavior. The success path is unchanged. bpftool: Use consistent include paths for libbpf Fix bpftool to include libbpf header files with the bpf/ prefix, to be consistent with external users of the library. Also ensure that all includes of exported libbpf header files (those that are exported on 'make install' of the library) use bracketed includes instead of quoted. To make sure no new files are introduced that doesn't include the bpf/ prefix in its include, remove tools/lib/bpf from the include path entirely, and use tools/lib instead. libbpf: Hashmap interface update to allow both long and void* keys/values An update for libbpf's hashmap interface from void* -> void* to a polymorphic one, allowing both long and void* keys and values. This simplifies many use cases in libbpf as hashmaps there are mostly integer to integer. Perf copies hashmap implementation from libbpf and has to be updated as well. Changes to libbpf, selftests/bpf and perf are packed as a single commit to avoid compilation issues with any future bisect. Polymorphic interface is acheived by hiding hashmap interface functions behind auxiliary macros that take care of necessary type casts, for example: #define hashmap_cast_ptr(p) \ ({ \ _Static_assert((p) == NULL || sizeof(*(p)) == sizeof(long),\ #p " pointee should be a long-sized integer or a pointer"); \ (long *)(p); \ }) bool hashmap_find(const struct hashmap *map, long key, long *value); #define hashmap__find(map, key, value) \ hashmap_find((map), (long)(key), hashmap_cast_ptr(value)) - hashmap__find macro casts key and value parameters to long and long* respectively - hashmap_cast_ptr ensures that value pointer points to a memory of appropriate size. This hack was suggested by Andrii Nakryiko in [1]. This is a follow up for [2]. bpftool: Mount bpffs on provided dir instead of parent dir [ Upstream commit 478a535ae54ad3831371904d93b5dfc403222e17 ] When pinning programs/objects under PATH (eg: during "bpftool prog loadall") the bpffs is mounted on the parent dir of PATH in the following situations: - the given dir exists but it is not bpffs. - the given dir doesn't exist and the parent dir is not bpffs. Mounting on the parent dir can also have the unintentional side- effect of hiding other files located under the parent dir. If the given dir exists but is not bpffs, then the bpffs should be mounted on the given dir and not its parent dir. Similarly, if the given dir doesn't exist and its parent dir is not bpffs, then the given dir should be created and the bpffs should be mounted on this new dir.
