dt-bindings: input: ariel-pwrbutton: use spi-peripheral-props.yaml Instead of listing directly properties typical for SPI peripherals, reference the spi-peripheral-props.yaml schema. This allows using all properties typical for SPI-connected devices, even these which device bindings author did not tried yet. Remove the spi-* properties which now come via spi-peripheral-props.yaml schema, except for the cases when device schema adds some constraints like maximum frequency. While changing additionalProperties->unevaluatedProperties, put it in typical place, just before example DTS.a The binding references also input.yaml and lists explicitly allowed properties, thus here reference only spi-peripheral-props.yaml for purpose of documenting the SPI slave device and bringing spi-max-frequency type validation. Input: add generic input driver to read encoded GPIO lines Add a driver to read group of GPIO lines and provide its status as a numerical value as input event to the system. This will help in interfacing devices, that can be connected over GPIOs, that provide input to the system by driving GPIO lines connected to them like a rotary dial or a switch. For example, a rotary switch can be connected to four GPIO lines. The status of the GPIO lines reflect the actual position of the rotary switch dial. For example, if dial points to 9, then the four GPIO lines connected to the switch will read HLLH(0b'1001 = 9). This value can be reported as an ABS_* event to the input subsystem. dt-bindings: Add missing 'additionalProperties: false' Setting 'additionalProperties: false' is frequently omitted, but is important in order to check that there aren't extra undocumented properties in a binding. Ideally, we'd just add this automatically and make this the default, but there's some cases where it doesn't work. For example, if a common schema is referenced, then properties in the common schema aren't part of what's considered for 'additionalProperties'. Also, sometimes there are bus specific properties such as 'spi-max-frequency' that go into bus child nodes, but aren't defined in the child node's schema. So let's stick with the json-schema defined default and add 'additionalProperties: false' where needed. This will be a continual review comment and game of wack-a-mole.
