dt-bindings: remove 'interrupt-parent' from bindings 'interrupt-parent' is often documented as part of define bindings, but it is really outside the scope of a device binding. It's never required in a given node as it is often inherited from a parent node. Or it can be implicit if a parent node is an 'interrupt-controller' node. So remove it from all the binding files. dt-bindings: PCI: dwc: Add Baikal-T1 PCIe Root Port bindings Baikal-T1 SoC is equipped with DWC PCIe v4.60a Root Port controller, which link can be trained to work on up to Gen.3 speed over up to x4 lanes. The controller is supposed to be fed up with four clock sources: DBI peripheral clock, AXI application Tx/Rx clocks and external PHY/core reference clock generating the 100MHz signal. In addition to that the platform provide a way to reset each part of the controller: sticky/non-sticky bits, host controller core, PIPE interface, PCS/PHY and Hot/Power reset signal. The Root Port controller is equipped with multiple IRQ lines like MSI, system AER, PME, HP, Bandwidth change, Link equalization request and eDMA ones. The registers space is accessed over the DBI interface. There can be no more than four inbound or outbound iATU windows configured. dt-bindings: PCI: brcm,iproc-pcie: Fix 'msi' child node schema The 'msi' child node schema is missing constraints on additional properties. It turns out it is incomplete and properties for it are documented in the parent node by mistake. Move the reference to msi-controller.yaml and the custom properties to the 'msi' node. Adding 'unevaluatedProperties' ensures all the properties in the 'msi' node are documented. With the schema corrected, a minimal interrupt controller node is needed to properly decode the interrupt properties since the example has multiple interrupt parents. powerpc: fsl_pci: Add forced PCI Agent enumeration The following commit prevents the MPC8548E on the XPedite5200 PrPMC module from enumerating its PCI/PCI-X bus: powerpc/fsl-pci: use 'Header Type' to identify PCIE mode The previous patch prevents any Freescale PCI-X bridge from enumerating the bus, if it is hardware strapped into Agent mode. In PCI-X, the Host is responsible for driving the PCI-X initialization pattern to devices on the bus, so that they know whether to operate in conventional PCI or PCI-X mode as well as what the bus timing will be. For a PCI-X PrPMC, the pattern is driven by the mezzanine carrier it is installed onto. Therefore, PrPMCs are PCI-X Agents, but one per system may still enumerate the bus. This patch causes the device node of any PCI/PCI-X bridge strapped into Agent mode to be checked for the fsl,pci-agent-force-enum property. If the property is present in the node, the bridge will be allowed to enumerate the bus. dt-bindings: pci: layerscape-pci: define AER/PME interrupts Different platforms using this controller are using different numbers of interrupt lines and the routing of events to these interrupt lines are different too. So instead of trying to define names for these interrupt lines, we define the more specific AER/PME events that are routed to these interrupt lines. For platforms which only has a single interrupt line for miscellaneous controller events, we can keep using the original "intr" name for backward compatibility. dt-bindings: PCI: mediatek: Update the Device tree bindings There are two independent PCIe controllers in MT2712 and MT7622 platform. Each of them should contain an independent MSI domain. In old dts architecture, MSI domain will be inherited from the root bridge, and all of the devices will share the same MSI domain. Hence that, the PCIe devices will not work properly if the irq number which required is more than 32. Split the PCIe node for MT2712 and MT7622 platform to comply with the hardware design and fix MSI issue. Power management: - Disable Precision Time Management for all devices on suspend to enable lower-power PM state. We previously did this just for Root Ports, which isn't enough because downstream devices can still generate PTM messages, which cause errors if it's disabled in the Root Port. - Save and restore the ASPM L1 PM Substates configuration for suspend/ resume. Previously this configuration was lost, so L1.x states likely stopped working after resume. - Check whether the L1 PM Substates Capability exists. If it didn't exist, we previously read junk and tried to configure L1 Substates based on that. - Fix the LTR_L1.2_THRESHOLD computation, which previously set a threshold for entering L1.2 that was too low in some cases. - Reduce the delay after transitions to or from D3cold by using usleep_range() rather than msleep(), which often slept for ~19ms instead of the 10ms normally required. The spec says 10ms is enough, but it's possible we could trip over devices that need a little more. Error handling: - Work around a BIOS bug that caused Intel Root Ports to advertise a Root Port Programmed I/O (RP PIO) log size of zero, which caused annoying warnings and prevented the kernel from dumping log registers for DPC errors. Qualcomm PCIe controller driver: - Add support for SC8280XP and SA8540P host controllers and SM8450 endpoint controller. - Disable Master AXI clock on endpoint controllers to save power when link is idle or in L1.x. - Expose link state transition counts via debugfs to help debug issues with low-power states. - Add auto-loading module support. Docs: dt: Be explicit and consistent in reference to IOMMU specifiers The generic IOMMU binding says that the meaning of an 'IOMMU specifier' is defined by the binding of a specific SMMU. The ARM SMMU binding never explicitly uses the term 'specifier' at all. Update implicit references to use the explicit term. In the iommu-map binding change references to iommu-specifier to "IOMMU specifier" so we are 100% consistent everywhere with terminology and capitalization. dt-bindings: PCI: dwc: Add dma-coherent property DW PCIe EP/RP AXI- and TRGT1-master interfaces are responsible for the application memory access. They are used by the RP/EP PCIe buses (MWr/MWr TLPs emitted by the peripheral PCIe devices) and the eDMA block. Since all of them mainly involve the system memory and basically mean DMA we can expect the corresponding platforms can be designed in a way to make sure the transactions are cache-coherent. As such the DW PCIe DT-nodes can have the 'dma-coherent' property specified. Let's permit it in the DT-bindings then. dt-bindings: PCI: dwc: Add clocks/resets common properties DW PCIe RP/EP reference manuals explicit define all the clocks and reset requirements in [1] and [2]. Seeing the DW PCIe vendor-specific DT-bindings have already started assigning random names to the same set of the clocks and resets lines, let's define a generic names sets and add them to the DW PCIe common DT-schema. Note since there are DW PCI-based vendor-specific DT-bindings with the custom names assigned to the same clocks and resets resources we have no much choice but to add them to the generic DT-schemas in order to have the schemas being applicable for such devices. These names are marked as vendor-specific and should be avoided being used in new bindings in favor of the generic names. dt-bindings: visconti-pcie: Fix interrupts array max constraints In accordance with the way the device DT-node is actually defined in arch/arm64/boot/dts/toshiba/tmpv7708.dtsi and the way the device is probed by the DW PCIe driver there are two IRQs it actually has. PCI: v3: Update the device tree bindings The bindings for the V3 Semiconductor PCI bridge are a tad bit outdated and predates the more formal format we have adopted for the bindings. Update them a bit so it is easier to read, and add the Integrator AP- specific compatible so we can detect that we are running on that specific platform. Add a second register bank for the configuration memory area. The device tree specs do specify a memory range for configuration space but it is not applicable to custom accessors like this. Instead follow the pattern from the Versatile PCI adapter and simply add a second register bank for this memory. dt-bindings: Add missing 'unevaluatedProperties' This doesn't yet do anything in the tools, but make it explicit so we can check either 'unevaluatedProperties' or 'additionalProperties' is present in schemas. 'unevaluatedProperties' is appropriate when including another schema (via '$ref') and all possible properties and/or child nodes are not explicitly listed in the schema with the '$ref'. This is in preparation to add a meta-schema to check for missing 'unevaluatedProperties' or 'additionalProperties'. This has been a constant source of review issues.
