hw/acpi: refactor acpi hp modules so that targets can just use what they need Currently various acpi hotplug modules like cpu hotplug, memory hotplug, pci hotplug, nvdimm hotplug are all pulled in when CONFIG_ACPI_X86 is turned on. This brings in support for whole lot of subsystems that some targets like mips does not need. They are added just to satisfy symbol dependencies. This is ugly and should be avoided. Targets should be able to pull in just what they need and no more. For example, mips only needs support for PIIX4 and does not need acpi pci hotplug support or cpu hotplug support or memory hotplug support etc. This change is an effort to clean this up. In this change, new config variables are added for various acpi hotplug subsystems. Targets like mips can only enable PIIX4 support and not the rest of all the other modules which were being previously pulled in as a part of CONFIG_ACPI_X86. Function stubs make sure that symbols which piix4 needs but are not required by mips (for example, symbols specific to pci hotplug etc) are available to satisfy the dependencies. Currently, this change only addresses issues with mips malta targets. In future we might be able to clean up other targets which are similarly pulling in lot of unnecessary hotplug modules by enabling ACPI_X86. pcihp: add ACPI PCI hotplug specific is_hotpluggable_bus() callback Provide pcihp specific callback to check if bus is hotpluggable and consolidate its scattered hotplug criteria there. While at it clean up no longer needed qbus_set_hotplug_handler(BUS(bus), NULL) workarounds since callback makes qbus_is_hotpluggable() return correct answer even if hotplug_handler is set on bus. hw/acpi: Dumb down acpi_table_add() stub The QERR_ macros are leftovers from the days of "rich" error objects. We've been trying to reduce their remaining use. acpi_table_add() is only ever called on behalf of CLI option -acpitable. Since qemu-options.hx sets @arch_mask to QEMU_ARCH_I386, it is reachable only for these targets. Since they provide a real acpi_table_add(), the stub is unreachable. There's no point in unreachable code keeping QERR_UNSUPPORTED alive. Dumb it down to g_assert_not_reached(). hw/acpi/acpi_dev_interface: Remove now unused madt_cpu virtual method This virtual method was always set to the x86-specific pc_madt_cpu_entry(), even in piix4 which is also used in MIPS. The previous changes use pc_madt_cpu_entry() otherwise, so madt_cpu can be dropped. Since pc_madt_cpu_entry() is now only used in x86-specific code, the stub in hw/acpi/acpi-x86-stub can be removed as well. acpi: pc: vga: use AcpiDevAmlIf interface to build VGA device descriptors NB: We do not expect any functional change in any ACPI tables with this change. It's only a refactoring. NB2: Some targets (or1k) do not support acpi and CONFIG_ACPI is off for them. However, modules are reused between all architectures so CONFIG_ACPI is on. For those architectures, dummy stub function definitions help to resolve symbols. This change uses more of these and so it adds a couple of dummy stub definitions so that symbols for those can be resolved. hw/acpi: propagate vcpu hotplug after switch to modern interface If a vcpu with an apic-id that is not supported by the legacy interface (>255) is hot-plugged, the legacy code will dynamically switch to the modern interface. However, the hotplug event is not forwarded to the new interface resulting in the vcpu not being fully/properly added to the machine config. This BUG is evidenced by OVMF when it it attempts to count the vcpus and reports an inconsistent vcpu count reported by the fw_cfg interface and the modern hotpug interface. Fix is to propagate the hotplug event after making the switch from the legacy interface to the modern interface. Cc: "Michael S. Fix 'writeable' typos We have about 30 instances of the typo/variant spelling 'writeable', and over 500 of the more common 'writable'. Standardize on the latter. Change produced with: sed -i -e 's/\([Ww][Rr][Ii][Tt]\)[Ee]\([Aa][Bb][Ll][Ee]\)/\1\2/g' $(git grep -il writeable) and then hand-undoing the instance in linux-headers/linux/kvm.h. trace: switch position of headers to what Meson requires Meson doesn't enjoy the same flexibility we have with Make in choosing the include path. In particular the tracing headers are using $(build_root)/$(<D). In order to keep the include directives unchanged, the simplest solution is to generate headers with patterns like "trace/trace-audio.h" and place forwarding headers in the source tree such that for example "audio/trace.h" includes "trace/trace-audio.h". This patch is too ugly to be applied to the Makefiles now. It's only a way to separate the changes to the tracing header files from the Meson rewrite of the tracing logic. acpi: Set proper maximum size for "etc/acpi/rsdp" blob Let's also set a maximum size for "etc/acpi/rsdp", so the maximum size doesn't get implicitly set based on the initial table size. In my experiments, the table size was in the range of 22 bytes, so a single page (== what we used until now) seems to be good enough. Now that we have defined maximum sizes for all currently used table types, let's assert that we catch usage with new tables that need a proper maximum size definition. Also assert that our initial size does not exceed the maximum size; while qemu_ram_alloc_internal() properly asserts that the initial RAMBlock size is <= its maximum size, the result might differ when the host page size is bigger than 4k. hw/acpi: Add VIOT table Add a function that generates a Virtual I/O Translation table (VIOT), describing the topology of paravirtual IOMMUs. The table is created if a virtio-iommu device is present. It contains a virtio-iommu node and PCI Range nodes for endpoints managed by the IOMMU. By default, a single node describes all PCI devices. When passing the "default_bus_bypass_iommu" machine option and "bypass_iommu" PXB option, only buses that do not bypass the IOMMU are described by PCI Range nodes.
