github: fix config mistake preventing repo lockdown commenting The previous commit updated the repo lockdown config to the new format: commit 9b89cdb2a5064a87b8a7172fa1748d46aa37a9df Author: Alex Bennée <alex.bennee@linaro.org> Date: Mon Oct 4 16:43:08 2021 +0100 .github: move repo lockdown to the v2 configuration Unfortunately the config key names used were wrong, resulting in the repo lockdown throwing warnings: Unexpected input(s) 'pull-comment', 'lock-pull', 'close-pull', valid inputs are ['github-token', 'exclude-issue-created-before', 'exclude-issue-labels', 'issue-labels', 'issue-comment', 'skip-closed-issue-comment', 'close-issue', 'lock-issue', 'issue-lock-reason', 'exclude-pr-created-before', 'exclude-pr-labels', 'pr-labels', 'pr-comment', 'skip-closed-pr-comment', 'close-pr', 'lock-pr', 'pr-lock-reason', 'process-only', 'log-output'] It still locked down the pull requests, due to its default config, but didn't leave the friendly message explaining why. .gitlab/issue_templates: Move suggestions into comments Many users forget to remove the suggestions from the bug template when creating a new issue. So when searching for strings like "s390x" or "Windows", you get a lot of unrelated issues in the results. Thus let's move the suggestions into HTML comments - so they will still show up in the markdown when editing the bug, while being hidden/ignored in the final text or in the search queries. backends/iommufd: Remove mutex Coverity reports a concurrent data access violation because be->users is being accessed in iommufd_backend_can_be_deleted() without holding the mutex. However, these routines are called from the QEMU main thread when a device is created. In this case, the code paths should be protected by the BQL lock and it should be safe to drop the IOMMUFD backend mutex. Simply remove it. system/cpus: rename qemu_mutex_lock_iothread() to bql_lock() The Big QEMU Lock (BQL) has many names and they are confusing. The actual QemuMutex variable is called qemu_global_mutex but it's commonly referred to as the BQL in discussions and some code comments. The locking APIs, however, are called qemu_mutex_lock_iothread() and qemu_mutex_unlock_iothread(). The "iothread" name is historic and comes from when the main thread was split into into KVM vcpu threads and the "iothread" (now called the main loop thread). I have contributed to the confusion myself by introducing a separate --object iothread, a separate concept unrelated to the BQL. The "iothread" name is no longer appropriate for the BQL. Rename the locking APIs to: - void bql_lock(void) - void bql_unlock(void) - bool bql_locked(void) There are more APIs with "iothread" in their names. Subsequent patches will rename them. There are also comments and documentation that will be updated in later patches. When the AioContext lock is removed these fields will need another form of protection. Add NBDClient->lock and protect fields that are accessed by both threads. Also add assertions where possible and otherwise add doc comments stating assumptions about which thread and lock holding. net: handle QIOTask completion to report useful error message The network stream backend uses the async QIO socket APIs for listening and connecting sockets. It does not check the task object completion status, however, instead just looking at whether the socket FD is -1 or not. cpus: stop vm in suspended runstate Currently, a vm in the suspended state is not completely stopped. The VCPUs have been paused, but the cpu clock still runs, and runstate notifiers for the transition to stopped have not been called. This causes problems for live migration. Stale cpu timers_state is saved to the migration stream, causing time errors in the guest when it wakes from suspend, and state that would have been modified by runstate notifiers is wrong. Modify vm_stop to completely stop the vm if the current state is suspended, transition to RUN_STATE_PAUSED, and remember that the machine was suspended. Modify vm_start to restore the suspended state. This affects all callers of vm_stop and vm_start, notably, the qapi stop and cont commands: old behavior: RUN_STATE_SUSPENDED --> stop --> RUN_STATE_SUSPENDED new behavior: RUN_STATE_SUSPENDED --> stop --> RUN_STATE_PAUSED RUN_STATE_PAUSED --> cont --> RUN_STATE_SUSPENDED For example: (qemu) info status VM status: paused (suspended) (qemu) stop (qemu) info status VM status: paused (qemu) system_wakeup Error: Unable to wake up: guest is not in suspended state (qemu) cont (qemu) info status VM status: paused (suspended) (qemu) system_wakeup (qemu) info status VM status: running Suggested-by: Peter Xu <peterx@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Steve Sistare <steven.sistare@oracle.com> Reviewed-by: Peter Xu <peterx@redhat.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/1704312341-66640-3-git-send-email-steven.sistare@oracle.com Signed-off-by: Peter Xu <peterx@redhat.com> | 2 年前 | |

qom/object: Limit type names to alphanumerical and some few special characters QOM names currently don't have any enforced naming rules. This can be problematic, e.g. when they are used on the command line for the "-device" option (where the comma is used to separate properties). To avoid that such problematic type names come in again, let's restrict the set of acceptable characters during the type registration. Ideally, we'd apply here the same rules as for QAPI, i.e. all type names should begin with a letter, and contain only ASCII letters, digits, hyphen, and underscore. However, we already have so many pre-existing types like: 486-x86_64-cpu cfi.pflash01 power5+_v2.1-spapr-cpu-core virt-2.6-machine pc-i440fx-3.0-machine ... so that we have to allow "." and "+" for now, too. While the dot is used in a lot of places, the "+" can fortunately be limited to two classes of legacy names ("power" and "Sun-UltraSparc" CPUs). We also cannot enforce the rule that names must start with a letter yet, since there are lot of types that start with a digit. Still, at least limiting the first characters to the alphanumerical range should be way better than nothing. system/cpus: rename qemu_mutex_lock_iothread() to bql_lock() The Big QEMU Lock (BQL) has many names and they are confusing. Subsequent patches will rename them. vhost-user: Fix protocol feature bit conflict The VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_XEN_MMAP feature bit was defined in f21e95ee97d, which has been part of qemu's 8.1.0 release. However, it seems it was never added to qemu's code, but it is well possible that it is already used by different front-ends outside of qemu (i.e., Xen). VHOST_USER_PROTOCOL_F_SHARED_OBJECT in contrast was added to qemu's code in 16094766627, but never defined in the vhost-user specification. As a consequence, both bits were defined to be 17, which cannot work. Regardless of whether actual code or the specification should take precedence, F_XEN_MMAP is already part of a qemu release, while F_SHARED_OBJECT is not. Therefore, bump the latter to take number 18 instead of 17, and add this to the specification. Take the opportunity to add at least a little note on the VhostUserShared structure to the specification. This structure is referenced by the new commands introduced in 16094766627, but was not defined. tcg/LICENSE: Remove out of date claim about TCG subdirectory licensing Since 2008 the tcg/LICENSE file has not changed: it claims that everything under tcg/ is BSD-licensed. This is not true and hasn't been true for years: in 2013 we accepted the tcg/aarch64 target code under a GPLv2-or-later license statement. We also have generic vector optimisation code under the LGPL2.1-or-later, and the TCI backend is GPLv2-or-later. Further, many of the files are not BSD licensed but MIT licensed. We don't really consider the tcg subdirectory to be a distinct part of QEMU anyway. Remove the LICENSE file, since claiming false information about the license of the code is confusing. qapi block: Elide redundant has_FOO in generated C The has_FOO for pointer-valued FOO are redundant, except for arrays. They are also a nuisance to work with. Recent commit "qapi: Start to elide redundant has_FOO in generated C" provided the means to elide them step by step. This is the step for qapi/block*.json. Said commit explains the transformation in more detail. There is one instance of the invariant violation mentioned there: qcow2_signal_corruption() passes false, "" when node_name is an empty string. Take care to pass NULL then. The previous two commits cleaned up two more. Additionally, helper bdrv_latency_histogram_stats() loses its output parameters and returns a value instead. util/event-loop-base: Introduce options to set the thread pool size The thread pool regulates itself: when idle, it kills threads until empty, when in demand, it creates new threads until full. This behaviour doesn't play well with latency sensitive workloads where the price of creating a new thread is too high. For example, when paired with qemu's '-mlock', or using safety features like SafeStack, creating a new thread has been measured take multiple milliseconds. In order to mitigate this let's introduce a new 'EventLoopBase' property to set the thread pool size. The threads will be created during the pool's initialization or upon updating the property's value, remain available during its lifetime regardless of demand, and destroyed upon freeing it. A properly characterized workload will then be able to configure the pool to avoid any latency spikes. block: Mark bdrv_get_specific_info() and callers GRAPH_RDLOCK This adds GRAPH_RDLOCK annotations to declare that callers of bdrv_get_specific_info() need to hold a reader lock for the graph. This removes an assume_graph_lock() call in vmdk's implementation. qemu-keymap: properly check return from xkb_keymap_mod_get_index We can return XKB_MOD_INVALID for AltGr which rightly gets flagged by sanitisers as an overly wide shift attempt. nsis installer: Fix mouse-over descriptions for emulators We use the nsis.py script to write out an installer script Section for each emulator executable, so the exact set of Sections depends on which executables were built. However the part of qemu.nsi which specifies mouse-over descriptions for each Section still has a hard-coded and very outdated list (with just i386 and alpha). This causes two problems. Firstly, if you build the installer for a configuration where you didn't build the i386 binaries you get warnings like this: warning 6000: unknown variable/constant "{Section_i386}" detected, ignoring (macro:_==:1) warning 6000: unknown variable/constant "{Section_i386w}" detected, ignoring (macro:_==:1) (this happens in our gitlab CI jobs, for instance). Secondly, most of the emulators in the generated installer don't have any mouseover text. Make nsis.py generate a second output file which has the necessary MUI_DESCRIPTION_TEXT lines for each Section it creates, so we can include that at the right point in qemu.nsi to set the mouse-over text.
这使得针对一种架构 ABI(例如 Linux PPC64 ABI)编译的二进制文件,可以在使用不同架构 ABI(例如 Linux x86_64 ABI)的主机上运行。
<https://www.qemu.org/documentation/>。
.. code-block:: shell
mkdir build cd build ../configure make
<https://wiki.qemu.org/Hosts/Linux>_<https://wiki.qemu.org/Hosts/Mac>_<https://wiki.qemu.org/Hosts/W32>_
.. code-block:: shell
git clone https://gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu.git
<https://wiki.qemu.org/Contribute/SubmitAPatch>_<https://wiki.qemu.org/Contribute/TrivialPatches>_
.. code-block:: shell
git clone https://gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu-web.git
<https://www.qemu.org/2017/02/04/the-new-qemu-website-is-up/>_
<https://github.com/stefanha/git-publish>_
.. code-block:: shell
.. code-block:: shell
<https://gitlab.com/qemu-project/qemu/-/issues>_
