hw/net/can/sja1000: fix bug for single acceptance filter and standard frame A CAN sja1000 standard frame filter mask has been computed and applied incorrectly for standard frames when single Acceptance Filter Mode (MOD_AFM = 1) has been selected. The problem has not been found by Linux kernel testing because it uses dual filter mode (MOD_AFM = 0) and leaves falters fully open. The problem has been noticed by Grant Ramsay when testing with Zephyr RTOS which uses single filter mode. kconfig: Add PCIe devices to s390x machines It is useful to extend the number of available PCIe devices to KVM guests for passthrough scenarios and also to expose these models to a different (big endian) architecture. Introduce a new config PCIE_DEVICES to select models, Intel Ethernet adapters and one USB controller. These devices all support MSI-X which is a requirement on s390x as legacy INTx are not supported. e1000e: Notify only new interrupts In MSI-X mode, if there are interrupts already notified but not cleared and a new interrupt arrives, e1000e incorrectly notifies the notified ones again along with the new one. To fix this issue, replace e1000e_update_interrupt_state() with two new functions: e1000e_raise_interrupts() and e1000e_lower_interrupts(). These functions don't only raise or lower interrupts, but it also performs register writes which updates the interrupt state. Before it performs a register write, these function determines the interrupts already raised, and compares with the interrupts raised after the register write to determine the interrupts to notify. The introduction of these functions made tracepoints which assumes that the caller of e1000e_update_interrupt_state() performs register writes obsolete. These tracepoints are now removed, and alternative ones are added to the new functions. e1000x: Take CRC into consideration for size check Section 13.7.15 Receive Length Error Count says: > Packets over 1522 bytes are oversized if LongPacketEnable is 0b > (RCTL.LPE). If LongPacketEnable (LPE) is 1b, then an incoming packet > is considered oversized if it exceeds 16384 bytes. > These lengths are based on bytes in the received packet from > <Destination Address> through <CRC>, inclusively. As QEMU processes packets without CRC, the number of bytes for CRC need to be subtracted. This change adds some size definitions to be used to derive the new size thresholds to eth.h. Include hw/hw.h exactly where needed In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/hw.h triggers a recompile of some 2600 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). The previous commits have left only the declaration of hw_error() in hw/hw.h. This permits dropping most of its inclusions. Touching it now recompiles less than 200 objects. trace: switch position of headers to what Meson requires Meson doesn't enjoy the same flexibility we have with Make in choosing the include path. In particular the tracing headers are using $(build_root)/$(<D). In order to keep the include directives unchanged, the simplest solution is to generate headers with patterns like "trace/trace-audio.h" and place forwarding headers in the source tree such that for example "audio/trace.h" includes "trace/trace-audio.h". This patch is too ugly to be applied to the Makefiles now. It's only a way to separate the changes to the tracing header files from the Meson rewrite of the tracing logic. hw/net/vmxnet3: Fix code to work on big endian hosts, too Since commit ab06ec43577177a442e8 we test the vmxnet3 device in the pxe-tester, too (when running "make check SPEED=slow"). This now revealed that the code is not working there if the host is a big endian machine (for example ppc64 or s390x) - "make check SPEED=slow" is now failing on such hosts. The vmxnet3 code lacks endianness conversions in a couple of places. Interestingly, the bitfields in the structs in vmxnet3.h already tried to take care of the *bit* endianness of the C compilers - but the code missed to change the *byte* endianness when reading or writing the corresponding structs. So the bitfields are now wrapped into unions which allow to change the byte endianness during runtime with the non-bitfield member of the union. With these changes, "make check SPEED=slow" now properly works on big endian hosts, too. include/hw/pci: Split pci_device.h off pci.h PCIDeviceClass and PCIDevice are defined in pci.h. Many users of the header don't actually need them. Similar structs live in their own headers: PCIBusClass and PCIBus in pci_bus.h, PCIBridge in pci_bridge.h, PCIHostBridgeClass and PCIHostState in pci_host.h, PCIExpressHost in pcie_host.h, and PCIERootPortClass, PCIEPort, and PCIESlot in pcie_port.h. system/cpus: rename qemu_mutex_lock_iothread() to bql_lock() The Big QEMU Lock (BQL) has many names and they are confusing. The actual QemuMutex variable is called qemu_global_mutex but it's commonly referred to as the BQL in discussions and some code comments. The locking APIs, however, are called qemu_mutex_lock_iothread() and qemu_mutex_unlock_iothread(). The "iothread" name is historic and comes from when the main thread was split into into KVM vcpu threads and the "iothread" (now called the main loop thread). I have contributed to the confusion myself by introducing a separate --object iothread, a separate concept unrelated to the BQL. The "iothread" name is no longer appropriate for the BQL. Rename the locking APIs to: - void bql_lock(void) - void bql_unlock(void) - bool bql_locked(void) There are more APIs with "iothread" in their names. Subsequent patches will rename them. There are also comments and documentation that will be updated in later patches. net: Provide MemReentrancyGuard * to qemu_new_nic() Recently MemReentrancyGuard was added to DeviceState to record that the device is engaging in I/O. The network device backend needs to update it when delivering a packet to a device. In preparation for such a change, add MemReentrancyGuard * as a parameter of qemu_new_nic().
