Styled String

Styled strings are strings with associated style attributes. They can be linked to a Text component using the setStyledString API in TextController and linked to a RichEditor component using the setStyledString API in RichEditorStyledStringController.

NOTE

The initial APIs of this module are supported since API version 12. Updates will be marked with a superscript to indicate their earliest API version.

Since API version 20, the getParagraphs API can be used to obtain the text layout information of styled strings.

Currently, styled strings cannot be used in worker threads.

If a styled string is bound via controller, the binding only takes effect after layout completion. When using setStyledString alongside measure, you must wait for layout completion using the layout callback before applying the styled string.

Rules of Use

  • If a styled string conflicts with the current style settings in a component, the style set in the styled string takes effect.
  • If a styled string conflicts with the child components in Text, the style set in the styled string is applied to the Text component, and style settings of the child components, including Span, are ignored.
  • The @State decorator is not supported.
  • To prevent the application from being inadvertently terminated while running in the background, define StyledString as a member variable.
  • Creation before loadContent() is not supported.
