tcp: configurable source port perturb table size On embedded systems with little memory and no relevant security concerns, it is beneficial to reduce the size of the table. Reducing the size from 2^16 to 2^8 saves 255 KiB of kernel RAM. Makes the table size configurable as an expert option. bpf, fou: Add bpf_skb_{set,get}_fou_encap kfuncs Add two new kfuncs that allow a BPF tc-hook, installed on an ipip device in collect-metadata mode, to control FOU encap parameters on a per-packet level. The set of kfuncs is registered with the fou module. The bpf_skb_set_fou_encap kfunc is supposed to be used in tandem and after a successful call to the bpf_skb_set_tunnel_key bpf-helper. UDP source and destination ports can be controlled by passing a struct bpf_fou_encap. A source port of zero will auto-assign a source port. enum bpf_fou_encap_type is used to specify if the egress path should FOU or GUE encap the packet. xfrm: ah: use skb_to_full_sk in async output callbacks commit 79d8be262377f7112cfa3088dfc4142d5a2533f3 upstream. When AH output is offloaded to an asynchronous crypto provider (hardware accelerators such as AMD CCP, or a forced-async software shim used for testing), the digest completion fires ah_output_done() / ah6_output_done() on a workqueue. The egress skb at that point may have been originated by a TCP listener sending a SYN-ACK, which sets skb->sk to a request_sock via skb_set_owner_edemux(); it may also have been originated by an inet_timewait_sock retransmit. Neither is a full struct sock, and passing the raw skb->sk to xfrm_output_resume() then forwards a non-full socket through the rest of the xfrm output chain. xfrm_output_resume() and its downstream consumers expect a full sk where they dereference at all. The natural egress path through ah_output_done() does not crash today because the consumers that read past sock_common are either gated by sk_fullsock() or short-circuit on flags that are clear on a fresh request_sock; an exhaustive walk of the 50 most plausible consumers under sch_fq, dev_queue_xmit, netfilter, tc-egress and cgroup-egress BPF found no current unguarded deref. The bug is still a real type confusion that future consumer changes could turn into a memory-corruption primitive. This is the same bug class fixed for ESP in commit 1620c88887b1 ("xfrm: Fix the usage of skb->sk"). Apply the analogous fix to AH: convert skb->sk to a full socket pointer (or NULL) via skb_to_full_sk() before handing it to xfrm_output_resume(). The same async AH callbacks were touched recently for an independent ESN-related ICV layout bug in commit ec54093e6a8f ("xfrm: ah: account for ESN high bits in async callbacks"); the sk type-confusion addressed here is orthogonal. This patch is part of an ongoing audit of the AH callback paths; an ah_output ihl-validation hardening series is also currently under review on netdev. Reproduced under UML + KASAN + lockdep with a forced-async hmac(sha1) shim that registers at priority 9999 and wraps the sync in-tree hmac-sha1-lib. With the shim loaded, ah_output_done runs on every SYN-ACK egress through a transport-mode AH SA and skb->sk arrives as a request_sock (TCP_NEW_SYN_RECV); after this patch, xfrm_output_resume() receives the listener (the result of sk_to_full_sk()) and consumer derefs land on full-sock fields as intended. xfrm: esp: restore combined single-frag length gate commit dfa0d7b0ff1eb6b2c416b8fdb9b4f2cefba57a40 upstream. The ESP out-of-place fast path appends the trailer in esp_output_head() before esp_output_tail() allocates the destination page frag. The head-side gate currently checks skb->data_len and tailen separately, but the tail code allocates a single destination frag from the combined post-trailer skb->data_len. Reject the page-frag fast path when the combined aligned length exceeds a page. net: ynl: prefix uAPI header include with uapi/ To keep things simple we used to include the uAPI header in the kernel in the #include <linux/$family.h> format. This works well enough, most of the genl families should have headers in include/net/ so linux/$family.h ends up referring to the uAPI header, anyway. And if it doesn't no big deal, we'll just include more info than we need. Unless that is there is a naming conflict. Someone recently created include/linux/psp.h which will be a problem when supporting the PSP protocol. ipv4: igmp: Fix potential UAF in igmp_gq_start_timer() [ Upstream commit 7b19c0f81ed1fdaec6bc522569be367199a9edf3 ] A race condition exists between device teardown (inetdev_destroy) and incoming IGMP query processing (igmp_rcv), leading to a Use-After-Free in the IGMP timer callback. During device destruction, inetdev_destroy() drops the primary reference to in_device, which can drop its refcount to 0. The actual freeing of in_device memory is deferred via RCU (using call_rcu()). Concurrently, igmp_rcv() runs under RCU read lock and obtains the in_device pointer. Because the memory is RCU-protected, CPU-0 can safely dereference in_device even if its refcount has hit 0. However, if CPU-0 calls igmp_gq_start_timer() and re-arms the timer, it attempts to acquire a reference using in_dev_hold(). This increments the refcount from 0 to 1, triggering a "refcount_t: addition on 0" warning. Since the in_device memory is still scheduled to be freed after the RCU grace period (as the free callback does not check the refcount again), the device is freed while the timer is still armed. When the timer expires, it accesses the freed memory, causing a kernel panic. Fix this by using refcount_inc_not_zero() (via a new helper in_dev_hold_safe()) to prevent acquiring a reference if the device is already being destroyed. If the refcount is 0, we do not arm the timer. A similar issue in IPv6 MLD is fixed in a subsequent patch. inet: frags: fix use-after-free caused by the fqdir_pre_exit() flush commit 32594b09854970d7ba83eb2dc8c69a2edd158c8e upstream. On netns teardown, fqdir_pre_exit() walks the fqdir rhashtable and flushes every fragment queue that is not yet complete using inet_frag_queue_flush(). That helper frees all the skbs queued on the fragment queue but does not set INET_FRAG_COMPLETE, and leaves q->fragments_tail and q->last_run_head pointing at the freed skbs. The queue itself stays in the rhashtable. fqdir_pre_exit() first lowers high_thresh to 0 to stop new queue lookups, but it cannot stop a fragment that already obtained the queue through inet_frag_find() earlier and stalled just before taking the queue lock. Once that fragment resumes after the flush and takes the queue lock, it passes the INET_FRAG_COMPLETE check and then dereferences the freed fragments_tail. inet_frag_queue_insert() reads FRAG_CB() and ->len of that pointer and, on the append path, writes ->next_frag, causing a slab use-after-free. IPv6, nf_conntrack_reasm6 and 6lowpan reassembly share the same flush path and are affected as well. Reset rb_fragments, fragments_tail and last_run_head in inet_frag_queue_flush() so a flushed queue no longer points at the freed skbs. A fragment that resumes after the flush and takes the queue lock then finds an empty queue and starts a new run instead of dereferencing the freed fragments_tail. ip_frag_reinit() already performed this reset after its own flush, so drop the now duplicate code there. net: ip_gre: require CAP_NET_ADMIN in the device netns for changelink [ Upstream commit 8165f7ff57d9667d2bb477ef6af83ede7fed4ad7 ] A tunnel changelink() operates on at most two netns, dev_net(dev) and the tunnel link netns t->net. They differ once the device is created in or moved to a netns other than the one the request runs in. The rtnl changelink path checks CAP_NET_ADMIN only against dev_net(dev), so a caller privileged there but not in t->net can rewrite a tunnel that lives in t->net. Add rtnl_dev_link_net_capable() next to rtnl_get_net_ns_capable() in net/core/rtnetlink.c. It requires CAP_NET_ADMIN in the link netns and is skipped when the link netns is dev_net(dev), where the rtnl path already checked it. The other patches in this series use the same helper. Gate ipgre_changelink() and erspan_changelink() with it, at the top of the op before any attribute is parsed, because the parsers update live tunnel fields first. ipgre_netlink_parms() sets t->collect_md before ip_tunnel_changelink() runs. ipv4: restrict IPOPT_SSRR and IPOPT_LSRR options [ Upstream commit d3915a1f5a4bc0ac911032903c3c6ab8df9fcc7c ] This patch restricts setting Loose Source and Record Route (LSRR) and Strict Source and Record Route (SSRR) IP options to users with CAP_NET_RAW capability. This prevents unprivileged applications from forcing packets to route through attacker-controlled nodes to leak TCP ISN and possibly other protocol information. ipv4: account for fraggap on the paged allocation path [ Upstream commit eca856950f7cb1a221e02b99d758409f2c5cec42 ] In __ip_append_data(), when the paged-allocation branch is taken, alloclen and pagedlen are computed as alloclen = fragheaderlen + transhdrlen; pagedlen = datalen - transhdrlen; datalen already includes fraggap, but the fraggap bytes carried over from the previous skb are copied into the new skb's linear area at offset transhdrlen by the subsequent skb_copy_and_csum_bits(). The linear area is therefore undersized by fraggap bytes while pagedlen is overstated by the same amount. The non-paged branch sets alloclen to fraglen, which already accounts for fraggap because datalen does. Bring the paged branch in line by adding fraggap to alloclen and subtracting it from pagedlen. After this adjustment, copy no longer collapses to -fraggap on the paged path, so remove the stale comment describing that old arithmetic. xfrm: delete x->tunnel as we delete x [ Upstream commit b441cf3f8c4b8576639d20c8eb4aa32917602ecd ] The ipcomp fallback tunnels currently get deleted (from the various lists and hashtables) as the last user state that needed that fallback is destroyed (not deleted). If a reference to that user state still exists, the fallback state will remain on the hashtables/lists, triggering the WARN in xfrm_state_fini. Because of those remaining references, the fix in commit f75a2804da39 ("xfrm: destroy xfrm_state synchronously on net exit path") is not complete. We recently fixed one such situation in TCP due to defered freeing of skbs (commit 9b6412e6979f ("tcp: drop secpath at the same time as we currently drop dst")). This can also happen due to IP reassembly: skbs with a secpath remain on the reassembly queue until netns destruction. If we can't guarantee that the queues are flushed by the time xfrm_state_fini runs, there may still be references to a (user) xfrm_state, preventing the timely deletion of the corresponding fallback state. Instead of chasing each instance of skbs holding a secpath one by one, this patch fixes the issue directly within xfrm, by deleting the fallback state as soon as the last user state depending on it has been deleted. Destruction will still happen when the final reference is dropped. A separate lockdep class for the fallback state is required since we're going to lock x->tunnel while x is locked. nexthop: fix IPv6 route referencing IPv4 nexthop [ Upstream commit 29c95185ba32b621fbc3800fb86e7dc3edf5c2be ] syzbot reported a panic [1] [2]. When an IPv6 nexthop is replaced with an IPv4 nexthop, the has_v4 flag of all groups containing this nexthop is not updated. This is because nh_group_v4_update is only called when replacing AF_INET to AF_INET6, but the reverse direction (AF_INET6 to AF_INET) is missed. This allows a stale has_v4=false to bypass fib6_check_nexthop, causing IPv6 routes to be attached to groups that effectively contain only AF_INET members. Subsequent route lookups then call nexthop_fib6_nh() which returns NULL for the AF_INET member, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. Fix by calling nh_group_v4_update whenever the family changes, not just AF_INET to AF_INET6. Reproducer: # AF_INET6 blackhole ip -6 nexthop add id 1 blackhole # group with has_v4=false ip nexthop add id 100 group 1 # replace with AF_INET (no -6), has_v4 stays false ip nexthop replace id 1 blackhole # pass stale has_v4 check ip -6 route add 2001:db8::/64 nhid 100 # panic ping -6 2001:db8::1 [1] https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?id=e17283eb2f8dcf3dd9b47fe6f67a95f71faadad0 [2] https://syzkaller.appspot.com/bug?id=8699b6ae54c9f35837d925686208402949e12ef3 Fixes: 7bf4796dd099 ("nexthops: add support for replace") Signed-off-by: Jiayuan Chen <jiayuan.chen@linux.dev> Reviewed-by: David Ahern <dsahern@kernel.org> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20260413114522.147784-1-jiayuan.chen@linux.dev Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sashal@kernel.org> (cherry picked from commit aaac3bed034239e1d75732211d9b05f30b0b4f35) Signed-off-by: Wentao Guan <guanwentao@uniontech.com> | 1 个月前

minmax: add a few more MIN_T/MAX_T users [ Upstream commit 4477b39c32fdc03363affef4b11d48391e6dc9ff ] Commit 3a7e02c040b1 ("minmax: avoid overly complicated constant expressions in VM code") added the simpler MIN_T/MAX_T macros in order to avoid some excessive expansion from the rather complicated regular min/max macros. The complexity of those macros stems from two issues: (a) trying to use them in situations that require a C constant expression (in static initializers and for array sizes) (b) the type sanity checking and MIN_T/MAX_T avoids both of these issues. Now, in the whole (long) discussion about all this, it was pointed out that the whole type sanity checking is entirely unnecessary for min_t/max_t which get a fixed type that the comparison is done in. But that still leaves min_t/max_t unnecessarily complicated due to worries about the C constant expression case. However, it turns out that there really aren't very many cases that use min_t/max_t for this, and we can just force-convert those. This does exactly that. Which in turn will then allow for much simpler implementations of min_t()/max_t(). All the usual "macros in all upper case will evaluate the arguments multiple times" rules apply. We should do all the same things for the regular min/max() vs MIN/MAX() cases, but that has the added complexity of various drivers defining their own local versions of MIN/MAX, so that needs another level of fixes first. ipv4: raw: reject IP_HDRINCL packets with ihl < 5 commit 915fab69823a14c170dbaa3b41978768e0fe62fc upstream. raw_send_hdrinc() validates that the caller-supplied IPv4 header fits within the message length: iphlen = iph->ihl * 4; err = -EINVAL; if (iphlen > length) goto error_free; if (iphlen >= sizeof(*iph)) { /* fix up saddr, tot_len, id, csum, transport_header */ } It does not, however, reject ihl < 5. For such a packet the "if (iphlen >= sizeof(*iph))" branch is skipped, leaving the crafted iphdr untouched, but the packet is still handed to __ip_local_out() and onward. Downstream consumers that read iph->ihl assume a sane value: net/ipv4/ah4.c:ah_output() in particular subtracts sizeof(struct iphdr) from top_iph->ihl * 4 and passes the (signed-int-negative, then cast to size_t) result to memcpy(), producing an OOB access of length close to SIZE_MAX and a host kernel panic. An IPv4 header with ihl < 5 is malformed by definition (RFC 791: "Internet Header Length is the length of the internet header in 32 bit words ... Note that the minimum value for a correct header is 5."). The kernel should not be willing to inject such a packet into its own output path. Reject "iphlen < sizeof(*iph)" alongside the existing "iphlen > length" check. This matches the principle that locally constructed packets that re-enter the IP stack must pass the same basic sanity tests that a foreign packet would be subjected to. Once this lands, the "if (iphlen >= sizeof(*iph))" wrapper around the fixup branch becomes redundant; left in place to keep the patch minimal and backport-friendly. A follow-up can unwrap it. Note that commit 86f4c90a1c5c ("ipv4, ipv6: ensure raw socket message is big enough to hold an IP header") ensures the message buffer is large enough to hold an iphdr, but does not constrain the self-reported iph->ihl. Reachability: the malformed packet source is any caller with CAP_NET_RAW, including an unprivileged process in a user+net namespace on a kernel with CONFIG_USER_NS=y. The reproduced AH crash also requires a matching xfrm AH policy on the outgoing route; a container granted CAP_NET_ADMIN can install that state and policy in its netns. Loopback bypasses xfrm_output, so the trigger uses a real netdev. Reproduced on UML + KASAN: kernel-mode fault at addr 0x0 with memcpy_orig at the crash site. Same shape reproduces inside a rootless Docker container with --cap-add NET_ADMIN on a stock distro kernel. net: ipv4: bound TCP reordering sysctl writes and MTU probe sizes commit efb8763d7bbb40cff4cc55a6b62c3095a038149c upstream. Reject invalid net.ipv4.tcp_reordering values before they reach TCP socket state. The sysctl is stored as an int but copied into the u32 tp->reordering field for new sockets, so negative writes wrap to large values. With tcp_mtu_probing=2, the wrapped value can overflow the tcp_mtu_probe() size calculation and drive the MTU probing path into an out-of-bounds read. Route tcp_reordering writes through proc_dointvec_minmax() and require it to be at least 1. Also require tcp_max_reordering to be at least 1 so the configured maximum cannot become negative either. When registering the table for a non-init network namespace, relocate extra2 pointers that refer into init_net.ipv4 so the tcp_reordering upper bound follows that namespace's tcp_max_reordering. Harden tcp_mtu_probe() itself by computing size_needed as u64. This keeps the send queue and window checks from being bypassed through signed integer overflow. Merge tag 'random-6.1-rc1-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/crng/random Pull more random number generator updates from Jason Donenfeld: "This time with some large scale treewide cleanups. The intent of this pull is to clean up the way callers fetch random integers. The current rules for doing this right are: - If you want a secure or an insecure random u64, use get_random_u64() - If you want a secure or an insecure random u32, use get_random_u32() The old function prandom_u32() has been deprecated for a while now and is just a wrapper around get_random_u32(). Same for get_random_int(). - If you want a secure or an insecure random u16, use get_random_u16() - If you want a secure or an insecure random u8, use get_random_u8() - If you want secure or insecure random bytes, use get_random_bytes(). The old function prandom_bytes() has been deprecated for a while now and has long been a wrapper around get_random_bytes() - If you want a non-uniform random u32, u16, or u8 bounded by a certain open interval maximum, use prandom_u32_max() I say "non-uniform", because it doesn't do any rejection sampling or divisions. Hence, it stays within the prandom_*() namespace, not the get_random_*() namespace. I'm currently investigating a "uniform" function for 6.2. We'll see what comes of that. By applying these rules uniformly, we get several benefits: - By using prandom_u32_max() with an upper-bound that the compiler can prove at compile-time is ≤65536 or ≤256, internally get_random_u16() or get_random_u8() is used, which wastes fewer batched random bytes, and hence has higher throughput. - By using prandom_u32_max() instead of %, when the upper-bound is not a constant, division is still avoided, because prandom_u32_max() uses a faster multiplication-based trick instead. - By using get_random_u16() or get_random_u8() in cases where the return value is intended to indeed be a u16 or a u8, we waste fewer batched random bytes, and hence have higher throughput. This series was originally done by hand while I was on an airplane without Internet. Later, Kees and I worked on retroactively figuring out what could be done with Coccinelle and what had to be done manually, and then we split things up based on that. So while this touches a lot of files, the actual amount of code that's hand fiddled is comfortably small" * tag 'random-6.1-rc1-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/crng/random: prandom: remove unused functions treewide: use get_random_bytes() when possible treewide: use get_random_u32() when possible treewide: use get_random_{u8,u16}() when possible, part 2 treewide: use get_random_{u8,u16}() when possible, part 1 treewide: use prandom_u32_max() when possible, part 2 treewide: use prandom_u32_max() when possible, part 1 | 3 年前

tcp_cubic: fix incorrect HyStart round start detection [ Upstream commit 25c1a9ca53db5780757e7f53e688b8f916821baa ] I noticed that HyStart incorrectly marks the start of rounds, leading to inaccurate measurements of ACK train lengths and resetting the ca->sample_cnt variable. This inaccuracy can impact HyStart's functionality in terminating exponential cwnd growth during Slow-Start, potentially degrading TCP performance. The issue arises because the changes introduced in commit 4e1fddc98d25 ("tcp_cubic: fix spurious Hystart ACK train detections for not-cwnd-limited flows") moved the caller of the bictcp_hystart_reset function inside the hystart_update function. This modification added an additional condition for triggering the caller, requiring that (tcp_snd_cwnd(tp) >= hystart_low_window) must also be satisfied before invoking bictcp_hystart_reset. This fix ensures that bictcp_hystart_reset is correctly called at the start of a new round, regardless of the congestion window size. This is achieved by moving the condition (tcp_snd_cwnd(tp) >= hystart_low_window) from before calling bictcp_hystart_reset to after it. I tested with a client and a server connected through two Linux software routers. In this setup, the minimum RTT was 150 ms, the bottleneck bandwidth was 50 Mbps, and the bottleneck buffer size was 1 BDP, calculated as (50M / 1514 / 8) * 0.150 = 619 packets. I conducted the test twice, transferring data from the server to the client for 1.5 seconds. Before the patch was applied, HYSTART-DELAY stopped the exponential growth of cwnd when cwnd = 516, and the bottleneck link was not yet saturated (516 < 619). After the patch was applied, HYSTART-ACK-TRAIN stopped the exponential growth of cwnd when cwnd = 632, and the bottleneck link was saturated (632 > 619). In this test, applying the patch resulted in 300 KB more data delivered. net: fix segmentation of forwarding fraglist GRO [ Upstream commit 426ca15c7f6cb6562a081341ca88893a50c59fa2 ] This patch enhances GSO segment handling by properly checking the SKB_GSO_DODGY flag for frag_list GSO packets, addressing low throughput issues observed when a station accesses IPv4 servers via hotspots with an IPv6-only upstream interface. Specifically, it fixes a bug in GSO segmentation when forwarding GRO packets containing a frag_list. The function skb_segment_list cannot correctly process GRO skbs that have been converted by XLAT, since XLAT only translates the header of the head skb. Consequently, skbs in the frag_list may remain untranslated, resulting in protocol inconsistencies and reduced throughput. To address this, the patch explicitly sets the SKB_GSO_DODGY flag for GSO packets in XLAT's IPv4/IPv6 protocol translation helpers (bpf_skb_proto_4_to_6 and bpf_skb_proto_6_to_4). This marks GSO packets as potentially modified after protocol translation. As a result, GSO segmentation will avoid using skb_segment_list and instead falls back to skb_segment for packets with the SKB_GSO_DODGY flag. This ensures that only safe and fully translated frag_list packets are processed by skb_segment_list, resolving protocol inconsistencies and improving throughput when forwarding GRO packets converted by XLAT. net: ipv4: bound TCP reordering sysctl writes and MTU probe sizes commit efb8763d7bbb40cff4cc55a6b62c3095a038149c upstream. This keeps the send queue and window checks from being bypassed through signed integer overflow. tcp: fix excessive TLP and RACK timeouts from HZ rounding We discovered from packet traces of slow loss recovery on kernels with the default HZ=250 setting (and min_rtt < 1ms) that after reordering, when receiving a SACKed sequence range, the RACK reordering timer was firing after about 16ms rather than the desired value of roughly min_rtt/4 + 2ms. The problem is largely due to the RACK reorder timer calculation adding in TCP_TIMEOUT_MIN, which is 2 jiffies. On kernels with HZ=250, this is 2*4ms = 8ms. The TLP timer calculation has the exact same issue. This commit fixes the TLP transmit timer and RACK reordering timer floor calculation to more closely match the intended 2ms floor even on kernels with HZ=250. It does this by adding in a new TCP_TIMEOUT_MIN_US floor of 2000 us and then converting to jiffies, instead of the current approach of converting to jiffies and then adding th TCP_TIMEOUT_MIN value of 2 jiffies. Our testing has verified that on kernels with HZ=1000, as expected, this does not produce significant changes in behavior, but on kernels with the default HZ=250 the latency improvement can be large. For example, our tests show that for HZ=250 kernels at low RTTs this fix roughly halves the latency for the RACK reorder timer: instead of mostly firing at 16ms it mostly fires at 8ms. net/ulp: use consistent error code when blocking ULP The referenced commit changed the error code returned by the kernel when preventing a non-established socket from attaching the ktls ULP. Before to such a commit, the user-space got ENOTCONN instead of EINVAL. The existing self-tests depend on such error code, and the change caused a failure: RUN global.non_established ... tls.c:1673:non_established:Expected errno (22) == ENOTCONN (107) non_established: Test failed at step #3 FAIL global.non_established In the unlikely event existing applications do the same, address the issue by restoring the prior error code in the above scenario. License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license. By default all files without license information are under the default license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2. Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0' SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. How this work was done: Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of the use cases: - file had no licensing information it it. - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it, - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information, Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords. The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files. The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s) to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was: - Files considered eligible had to be source code files. - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5 lines of source - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5 lines). All documentation files were explicitly excluded. The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license identifiers to apply. - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was considered to have no license information in it, and the top level COPYING file license applied. For non */uapi/* files that summary was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 11139 and resulted in the first patch in this series. If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930 and resulted in the second patch in this series. - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in it (per prior point). Results summary: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------ GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270 GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17 LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15 GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14 ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5 LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4 LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1 and that resulted in the third patch in this series. - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became the concluded license(s). - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a license but the other didn't, or they both detected different licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred. - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics). - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier, the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later in time. In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so they are related. Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks in about 15000 files. In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the correct identifier. Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch version early this week with: - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected license ids and scores - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+ files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the different types of files to be modified. These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to generate the patches. udp: clear skb->dev before running a sockmap verdict commit 3c94f241f776562c489876ff506f366224565c21 upstream. On the UDP receive path skb->dev is repurposed as dev_scratch (the truesize/state cache set by udp_set_dev_scratch()), through the union { struct net_device *dev; unsigned long dev_scratch; } in sk_buff. When a UDP socket is in a sockmap, sk_data_ready is sk_psock_verdict_data_ready(), which calls udp_read_skb() -> recv_actor() (sk_psock_verdict_recv) to run the attached SK_SKB verdict program in softirq. If that program calls a socket-lookup helper (bpf_sk_lookup_tcp/udp, bpf_skc_lookup_tcp), bpf_skc_lookup() does: if (skb->dev) caller_net = dev_net(skb->dev); skb->dev still holds the dev_scratch value (a non-NULL integer), so dev_net() dereferences it as a struct net_device * and the kernel takes a general protection fault on a non-canonical address in softirq: Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0x1010000800004a0 CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 1406 Comm: syz.2.19 Not tainted 7.1.0-rc6 #1 PREEMPT(full) RIP: 0010:bpf_skc_lookup net/core/filter.c:7033 [inline] RIP: 0010:bpf_sk_lookup+0x45/0x160 net/core/filter.c:7047 Call Trace: <IRQ> bpf_prog_4675cb904b7071f8+0x12e/0x14e bpf_prog_run_pin_on_cpu+0xc6/0x1f0 sk_psock_verdict_recv+0x1ba/0x350 udp_read_skb+0x31a/0x370 sk_psock_verdict_data_ready+0x2e3/0x600 __udp_enqueue_schedule_skb+0x4c8/0x650 udpv6_queue_rcv_one_skb+0x3ec/0x740 udp6_unicast_rcv_skb+0x11d/0x140 ip6_protocol_deliver_rcu+0x61e/0x950 ip6_input_finish+0xa9/0x150 NF_HOOK+0x286/0x2f0 ip6_input+0x117/0x220 NF_HOOK+0x286/0x2f0 __netif_receive_skb+0x85/0x200 process_backlog+0x374/0x9a0 __napi_poll+0x4f/0x1c0 net_rx_action+0x3b0/0x770 handle_softirqs+0x15a/0x460 do_softirq+0x57/0x80 </IRQ> The rmem charge that dev_scratch accounted for is released by skb_recv_udp() on dequeue, just above, so the scratch is dead by the time recv_actor() runs. ipv4: add new arguments to udp_tunnel_dst_lookup() [ Upstream commit 72fc68c6356b663a8763f02d9b0ec773d59a4949 ] We want to make the function more generic so that it can be used by other UDP tunnel implementations such as geneve and vxlan. To do that, add the following arguments: - source and destination UDP port; - ifindex of the output interface, needed by vxlan; - the tos, because in some cases it is not taken from struct ip_tunnel_info (for example, when it's inherited from the inner packet); - the dst cache, because not all tunnel types (e.g. vxlan) want to use the one from struct ip_tunnel_info. With these parameters, the function no longer needs the full struct ip_tunnel_info as argument and we can pass only the relevant part of it (struct ip_tunnel_key). udp_tunnel: use netdev_warn() instead of netdev_WARN() [ Upstream commit dc2f650f7e6857bf384069c1a56b2937a1ee370d ] netdev_WARN() uses WARN/WARN_ON to print a backtrace along with file and line information. udp_tunnel: add central NIC RX port offload infrastructure Cater to devices which: (a) may want to sleep in the callbacks; (b) only have IPv4 support; (c) need all the programming to happen while the netdev is up. Drivers attach UDP tunnel offload info struct to their netdevs, where they declare how many UDP ports of various tunnel types they support. Core takes care of tracking which ports to offload. Use a fixed-size array since this matches what almost all drivers do, and avoids a complexity and uncertainty around memory allocations in an atomic context. Make sure that tunnel drivers don't try to replay the ports when new NIC netdev is registered. Automatic replays would mess up reference counting, and will be removed completely once all drivers are converted. v4: - use a #define NULL to avoid build issues with CONFIG_INET=n. xfrm: Preserve vlan tags for transport mode software GRO [ Upstream commit 58fbfecab965014b6e3cc956a76b4a96265a1add ] The software GRO path for esp transport mode uses skb_mac_header_rebuild prior to re-injecting the packet via the xfrm_napi_dev. This only copies skb->mac_len bytes of header which may not be sufficient if the packet contains 802.1Q tags or other VLAN tags. Worse copying only the initial header will leave a packet marked as being VLAN tagged but without the corresponding tag leading to mangling when it is later untagged. The VLAN tags are important when receiving the decrypted esp transport mode packet after GRO processing to ensure it is received on the correct interface. Therefore record the full mac header length in xfrm*_transport_input for later use in corresponding xfrm*_transport_finish to copy the entire mac header when rebuilding the mac header for GRO. The skb->data pointer is left pointing skb->mac_header bytes after the start of the mac header as is expected by the network stack and network and transport header offsets reset to this location. This is not longer needed and is safe after commit c899710fe7f9 ("networking: Update to register_net_sysctl_sz") added the array size to the ctl_table registration. * Remove extra sentinel element in the declaration of devinet_vars. * Removed the "-1" in __devinet_sysctl_register, sysctl_route_net_init, ipv6_sysctl_net_init and ipv4_sysctl_init_net that adjusted for having an extra empty element when looping over ctl_table arrays * Replace the for loop stop condition in __addrconf_sysctl_register that tests for procname == NULL with one that depends on array size * Removing the unprivileged user check in ipv6_route_sysctl_init is safe as it is replaced by calling ipv6_route_sysctl_table_size; introduced in commit c899710fe7f9 ("networking: Update to register_net_sysctl_sz") * Use a table_size variable to keep the value of ARRAY_SIZE Signed-off-by: Joel Granados <j.granados@samsung.com> Signed-off-by: David S. net: xfrm: unexport __init-annotated xfrm4_protocol_init() EXPORT_SYMBOL and __init is a bad combination because the .init.text section is freed up after the initialization. Hence, modules cannot use symbols annotated __init. The access to a freed symbol may end up with kernel panic. modpost used to detect it, but it has been broken for a decade. Recently, I fixed modpost so it started to warn it again, then this showed up in linux-next builds. There are two ways to fix it: - Remove __init - Remove EXPORT_SYMBOL I chose the latter for this case because the only in-tree call-site, net/ipv4/xfrm4_policy.c is never compiled as modular. (CONFIG_XFRM is boolean) Fixes: 2f32b51b609f ("xfrm: Introduce xfrm_input_afinfo to access the the callbacks properly") Reported-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org> Acked-by: Steffen Klassert <steffen.klassert@secunet.com> Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> | 4 年前
xfrm: remove output_finish indirection from xfrm_state_afinfo There are only two implementaions, one for ipv4 and one for ipv6. Both are almost identical, they clear skb->cb[], set the TRANSFORMED flag in IP(6)CB and then call the common xfrm_output() function. By placing the IPCB handling into the common function, we avoid the need for the output_finish indirection as the output functions can simply use xfrm_output().
