ftracetest: Add POSIX.3 standard and XFAIL result codes Add XFAIL and POSIX 1003.3 standard codes (UNRESOLVED/ UNTESTED/UNSUPPORTED) as result codes. These are used for the results that test case is expected to fail or unsupported feature (by config). To return these result code, this introduces exit_unresolved, exit_untested, exit_unsupported and exit_xfail functions, which use real-time signals to notify the result code to ftracetest. This also set "errexit" option for the testcases, so that the tests don't need to exit explicitly. Note that if the test returns UNRESOLVED/UNSUPPORTED/FAIL, its test log including executed commands is shown on console and main logfile as below. ------ # ./ftracetest samples/ === Ftrace unit tests === [1] failure-case example [FAIL] execute: /home/fedora/ksrc/linux-3/tools/testing/selftests/ftrace/samples/fail.tc + . /home/fedora/ksrc/linux-3/tools/testing/selftests/ftrace/samples/fail.tc ++ cat non-exist-file cat: non-exist-file: No such file or directory [2] pass-case example [PASS] [3] unresolved-case example [UNRESOLVED] execute: /home/fedora/ksrc/linux-3/tools/testing/selftests/ftrace/samples/unresolved.tc + . /home/fedora/ksrc/linux-3/tools/testing/selftests/ftrace/samples/unresolved.tc ++ trap exit_unresolved INT ++ kill -INT 29324 +++ exit_unresolved +++ kill -s 38 29265 +++ exit 0 [4] unsupported-case example [UNSUPPORTED] execute: /home/fedora/ksrc/linux-3/tools/testing/selftests/ftrace/samples/unsupported.tc + . /home/fedora/ksrc/linux-3/tools/testing/selftests/ftrace/samples/unsupported.tc ++ exit_unsupported ++ kill -s 40 29265 ++ exit 0 [5] untested-case example [UNTESTED] [6] xfail-case example [XFAIL] # of passed: 1 # of failed: 1 # of unresolved: 1 # of untested: 1 # of unsupported: 1 # of xfailed: 1 # of undefined(test bug): 0 ------ Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/p/20140929120211.30203.99510.stgit@kbuild-f20.novalocal Acked-by: Namhyung Kim <namhyung@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Masami Hiramatsu <masami.hiramatsu.pt@hitachi.com> Signed-off-by: Steven Rostedt <rostedt@goodmis.org> | 11 年前 | |
tracing/probes: Point the error offset correctly for eprobe argument error commit 85e0f27dd1396307913ffc5745b0c05137e9beac upstream. Fix to point the error offset correctly for eprobe argument error. In the cleanup commit 1b8b0cd754cd ("tracing/probes: Move event parameter fetching code to common parser"), due to incorrect backward compatibility aimed at conforming to the test specifications, the error location was set to 0 when a non-existent formal parameter was specified for Eprobe. However, this should be corrected in both the test and the implementation to point correct error position. selftests/ftrace: Improve integration with kselftest runner The ftrace selftests do not currently produce KTAP output, they produce a custom format much nicer for human consumption. This means that when run in automated test systems we just get a single result for the suite as a whole rather than recording results for individual test cases, making it harder to look at the test data and masking things like inappropriate skips. Address this by adding support for KTAP output to the ftracetest script and providing a trivial wrapper which will be invoked by the kselftest runner to generate output in this format by default, users using ftracetest directly will continue to get the existing output. This is not the most elegant solution but it is simple and effective. I did consider implementing this by post processing the existing output format but that felt more complex and likely to result in all output being lost if something goes seriously wrong during the run which would not be helpful. I did also consider just writing a separate runner script but there's enough going on with things like the signal handling for that to seem like it would be duplicating too much. tracing/selftests: Turn off timeout setting As the ftrace selftests can run for a long period of time, disable the timeout that the general selftests have. If a selftest hangs, then it probably means the machine will hang too.
