net: skb_find_text: Ignore patterns extending past 'to' [ Upstream commit c4eee56e14fe001e1cff54f0b438a5e2d0dd7454 ] Assume that caller's 'to' offset really represents an upper boundary for the pattern search, so patterns extending past this offset are to be rejected. The old behaviour also was kind of inconsistent when it comes to fragmentation (or otherwise non-linear skbs): If the pattern started in between 'to' and 'from' offsets but extended to the next fragment, it was not found if 'to' offset was still within the current fragment. Test the new behaviour in a kselftest using iptables' string match. selftests: netfilter: add ebtables broute test case ebtables -t broute allows to redirect packets in a way that they get pushed up the stack, even if the interface is part of a bridge. In case of IP packets to non-local address, this means those IP packets are routed instead of bridged-forwarded, just as if the bridge would not have existed. netfilter: conntrack: set icmpv6 redirects as RELATED icmp conntrack will set icmp redirects as RELATED, but icmpv6 will not do this. For icmpv6, only icmp errors (code <= 128) are examined for RELATED state. ICMPV6 Redirects are part of neighbour discovery mechanism, those are handled by marking a selected subset (e.g. neighbour solicitations) as UNTRACKED, but not REDIRECT -- they will thus be flagged as INVALID. Add minimal support for REDIRECTs. No parsing of neighbour options is added for simplicity, so this will only check that we have the embeeded original header (ND_OPT_REDIRECT_HDR), and then attempt to do a flow lookup for this tuple. Also extend the existing test case to cover redirects. Fixes: 9fb9cbb1082d ("[NETFILTER]: Add nf_conntrack subsystem.") selftests: netfilter: test for sctp collision processing in nf_conntrack This patch adds a test case to reproduce the SCTP DATA chunk retransmission timeout issue caused by the improper SCTP collision processing in netfilter nf_conntrack_proto_sctp. In this test, client sends a INIT chunk, but the INIT_ACK replied from server is delayed until the server sends a INIT chunk to start a new connection from its side. After the connection is complete from server side, the delayed INIT_ACK arrives in nf_conntrack_proto_sctp. The delayed INIT_ACK should be dropped in nf_conntrack_proto_sctp instead of updating the vtag with the out-of-date init_tag, otherwise, the vtag in DATA chunks later sent by client don't match the vtag in the conntrack entry and the DATA chunks get dropped. selftest: netfilter: add test case for unreplied tcp connections TCP connections in UNREPLIED state (only SYN seen) can be kept alive indefinitely, as each SYN re-sets the timeout. This means that even if a peer has closed its socket the entry never times out. This also prevents re-evaluation of configured NAT rules. Add a test case that sets SYN timeout to 10 seconds, then check that the nat redirection added later eventually takes effect. This is based off a repro script from Antonio Ojea. vrf: don't run conntrack on vrf with !dflt qdisc After the below patch, the conntrack attached to skb is set to "notrack" in the context of vrf device, for locally generated packets. But this is true only when the default qdisc is set to the vrf device. When changing the qdisc, notrack is not set anymore. In fact, there is a shortcut in the vrf driver, when the default qdisc is set, see commit dcdd43c41e60 ("net: vrf: performance improvements for IPv4") for more details. This patch ensures that the behavior is always the same, whatever the qdisc is. To demonstrate the difference, a new test is added in conntrack_vrf.sh. netfilter: remove nf_conntrack_helper sysctl and modparam toggles __nf_ct_try_assign_helper() remains in place but it now requires a template to configure the helper. A toggle to disable automatic helper assignment was added by: a9006892643a ("netfilter: nf_ct_helper: allow to disable automatic helper assignment") in 2012 to address the issues described in "Secure use of iptables and connection tracking helpers". Automatic conntrack helper assignment was disabled by: 3bb398d925ec ("netfilter: nf_ct_helper: disable automatic helper assignment") back in 2016. This patch removes the sysctl and modparam toggles, users now have to rely on explicit conntrack helper configuration via ruleset. selftests: netfilter: add selftest for directional zone support Add a script to exercise NAT port clash resolution with directional zones. Add net namespaces that use the same IP address and connect them to a gateway. Gateway uses policy routing based on iif/mark and conntrack zones to isolate the client namespaces. In server direction, same zone with NAT to single address is used. Then, connect to a server from each client netns, using identical connection id, i.e. saddr:sport -> daddr:dport. Expectation is for all connections to succeeed: NAT gatway is supposed to do port reallocation for each of the (clashing) connections.
