selftests/ptp: Remove clean target from Makefile Fix the following build warn removing unnecessary clean target from the Makefile. lib.mk handles clean. Makefile:10: warning: overriding recipe for target clean ../lib.mk:124: warning: ignoring old recipe for target clean In addition, fix to use TEST_GEN_PROGS for generated test executables and TES_PROGS for the shell script. Ger rid of all target as lib.mk handles it. Signed-off-by: Shuah Khan <skhan@linuxfoundation.org> | 3 年前 | |
selftests: ptp: Add Physical Hardware Clock test Test the PTP Physical Hardware Clock functionality using the "phc_ctl" (a part of "linuxptp"). The test contains three sub-tests: * "settime" test * "adjtime" test * "adjfreq" test "settime" test: * set the PHC time to 0 seconds. * wait for 120.5 seconds. * check if PHC time equal to 120.XX seconds. "adjtime" test: * set the PHC time to 0 seconds. * adjust the time by 10 seconds. * check if PHC time equal to 10.XX seconds. "adjfreq" test: * adjust the PHC frequency to be 1% faster. * set the PHC time to 0 seconds. * wait for 100.5 seconds. * check if PHC time equal to 101.XX seconds. Usage: $ ./phc.sh /dev/ptp<X> It is possible to run a subset of the tests, for example: * To run only the "settime" test: $ TESTS="settime" ./phc.sh /dev/ptp<X> Signed-off-by: Shalom Toledo <shalomt@mellanox.com> Reviewed-by: Petr Machata <petrm@mellanox.com> Acked-by: Richard Cochran <richardcochran@gmail.com> Tested-by: Vladimir Oltean <olteanv@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Ido Schimmel <idosch@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Revert "ptp: add testptp mask test" This reverts commit 59ac47a0275fcd5a7637c3d5da20b0905563c7f5, which is commit 26285e689c6cd2cf3849568c83b2ebe53f467143 upstream. The reverted commit extends the selftest to test timestamp event queue mask manipulation in testptp. It exercises masks PTP_MASK_CLEAR_ALL and PTP_MASK_EN_SINGLE, introduced in commit c5a445b1e934 ("ptp: support event queue reader channel masks"), which is not on this stable branch. The test case thus cannot be built against this tree's own UAPI headers. The reverted commit was introduced to resolve a missing dependency of commit 8d9f22c570ba ("testptp: Add option to open PHC in readonly mode"), which is 76868642e427 upstream. The only conflict between the two is the getopt string, and there is otherwise no direct dependency between the two. This patch therefore reverts the cited commit, with hand-resolving the getopt string to include 'r' (as introduced by c6dc458227a3), but not 'F' (introduced by c1c50689799d). selftests: move ptp tests from Documentation/ptp Remove ptp from Makefile to move the test to selftests. Update ptp Makefile to work under selftests. ptp will not be run as part of selftests suite and will not be included in install targets. They can be built separately for now.
