selftests: add openvswitch selftest suite Previous commit resolves a WARN splat that can be difficult to reproduce, but with the ovs-dpctl.py utility, it can be trivial. Introduce a test case which creates a DP, and then downgrades the feature set. This will include a utility 'ovs-dpctl.py' that can be extended to do additional tests and diagnostics. selftests: openvswitch: add config file [ Upstream commit 441a820ccef9af80a9ac5a4c85b9c396e595967c ] The kselftests doc mentions that a config file should be present "if a test needs specific kernel config options enabled". This selftest requires some kernel config, but no config file was provided. We could say that a sub-target could use the parent's config file, but the kselftests doc doesn't mention anything about that. Plus the net/openvswitch target is the only net target without a config file. Here is a new config file, which is a trimmed version of the net one, with hopefully the minimal required kconfig on top of 'make defconfig'. The Fixes tag points to the introduction of the net/openvswitch target, just to help validating this target on stable kernels. selftests: openvswitch: fix tcpdump execution [ Upstream commit a17975992cc11588767175247ccaae1213a8b582 ] Fix the way tcpdump is executed by: - Using the right variable for the namespace. Currently the use of the empty "ns" makes the command fail. - Waiting until it starts to capture to ensure the interesting traffic is caught on slow systems. - Using line-buffered output to ensure logs are available when the test is paused with "-p". Otherwise the last chunk of data might only be written when tcpdump is killed. selftests: openvswitch: Fix escape chars in regexp. commit 3fde60afe1f84746c1177861bd27b3ebb00cb8f5 upstream. Character sequences starting with \ are interpreted by python as escaped Unicode characters. However, they have other meaning in regular expressions (e.g: "\d"). It seems Python >= 3.12 starts emitting a SyntaxWarning when these escaped sequences are not recognized as valid Unicode characters. An example of these warnings: tools/testing/selftests/net/openvswitch/ovs-dpctl.py:505: SyntaxWarning: invalid escape sequence '\d' Fix all the warnings by flagging literals as raw strings.
